    This was our first all inclusive and i'll list pros and cons of this place PROS: Food (book the restaurants, amazing) Staff: super nice and friendly. ROOM: BIG and cozy. Pools: Great, big. #Drinks: almost always great. Throw them a couple of bucks, they deserve. Entertainment: sure, most of it was corny but very nice and fun. CONS: FREE Shuttle service, they dropped us off at other Occidental in Cancun(like we would know there were two far from each other and had to pay for taxi to this one) Booking: They charged us twice and had to fight to get charge taken off. Beach: Not really there. small. Room: large but old looking from 1970s. In the end, the staff, food, and entertainment made this trip great. Would I go again? hmm. I might try some others in Cancun.

    Customer Service is terrible. I rented a room and it was confirmed. When I got there they had no rooms available and wanted to ship me down the road. I ask to speak with a manager and waited for over an hour and half. No manager still....but they finally found me a room. I finally found a manager walking around and he said he was not the right manager to talk to. Found another manager who wanted to make things right, and did NOT. Said we wanted to stay another night he would call our room with a discounted price. Never did. We checked out and went to another place. It is a hassle to be in another country and have to find different arrangements when you think everything was planned. Ruined a whole day of my vacation.

    Al-la-carte restaurants ALL DAY

    We had a great time at this resort, small enough that we felt like we got a personalized service. You have to book to eat at the al-la-carte, but there was no limit as to how many nights you got to go. So get up early and reserve dinner each day to get the best food!! TOP TIP: you're welcome to go to the al-la-carte restaurants for breakfast & lunch (they have a buffet), but this wasn't readily shared.... Christian Balam from the plated dinner service was wonderful!! Working at two of the three al-la-carte restaurants for dinner, he remembered our drink orders and was very attentive to us. Great small talk and had some good insights for trips off the resort!

    Alberto and Lucio were fantastic bartenders! They got us our drinks quick and kept us entertained all day! The drinks were always cold and they'd remembeed our order even if when we got the drinks from the server a lot of the time.

    The hotel and all-inclusive experience was very lovely up until our last day. After checking out, the front desk lady gave us a slip and said we could use it for the remainder of the day to get food and drinks. We left the hotel for 2 seconds and that's when Mauricio Gomez basically forced us to give him the slip we were given, promising us once we return he would give it back to us. 5 minutes later when we returned he refused to give us back the slip. We spoke to the front desk about how we had missed dinner because Mauricio and the lady prior promised us dinner at the restaurant multiple times and now they're going back on their word. Lilliana basically told us it sucked but since we didn't have the slip that Mauricio(standing right next to us at this moment) had, she could do anything for us. We felt that because it was their lack of communication that left us in very inconvenient circumstances, they could have been more apologetic. They did not say sorry once and blamed it on us. As 3 young black ladies, we felt that our age and color allowed them to overlook the issue and their fault. I whole-heartedly believe if I were a middle-aged white women, the situation would've gone differently and they would've offered some type of compensation and apology for their miscommunication.
