Not the worst but...

the beach is very very small, 15 palapas for 345 rooms! During our stay the beach was not accessible before 8h00. The lobby is not a lobby it's a hotel front desk with a couple of seats. The buffet is good but very small. We appreciated that it is a smoke free hotel and beach!,
Going more downhill every year

Still love Cozumel and would love to like this resort again, but it keeps going downhill. One of the major reasons we go to this resort is the beach volleyball, and the volleyball was under construction and unavailable all week. As was the swim up bar and the pool near the court for 4 days. There is no food anymore in the Bikini Bar. There is no bar open at the theater. The food in the sit down restaurants was more bland and tasteless than ever. The cheese for the nachos is runny and tasteless. All of the things that used to be good are either no longer there or not good anymore. Extremely disappointed. I hope they step things up or we will not be back, and we have been going there every year for the last 20 years.
Paradise

This was the perfect R&R we were looking for. Everything was amazing and I hope to go back again! We went on two different private tours and enjoyed seeing your beautiful island. The food at the resort was absolutely amazing, and we never waited long to be seated at any of the restaurants!
Can be better

Family of 3 adults and 2 children. The two connected rooms and views were awesome. The resort only had 4 restaurants 3 of them had about 20 tables. One was a buffet with about 40 tables. For a resort this size (348 rooms) there are 2 hour waiting times to get into one of the three a la cart restaurants. Food causes gastric issues. We started going out for food. Others were ordering pizza! Nora our concierge was the most helpful person ever! Amazing ?? Not enough pool loungers people would go down and put their stuff on the loungers before 8 am. By 8:30 not a lounger to be found at any pool or beach area. So you had to just pile your stuff on the ground hard rock. Bali beds had to be reserved. Felt safe to walk around the area.
A really nice stay!

I was surprised to see so many terrible reviews. This place was really good with a few things that definitely could be easy fixes which is why I gave 4 stars. Rave reviews for the following: - they are SO good with allergies! There’s a past review that said no gluten free options however this was not the case. Sure if you arrive at the buffet expecting the gluten free or allergen friendly foods to be there waiting, you won’t find them however all you need to do is ask! Kevin and Christian took care of me every day for breakfast and lunch. A shout out to chefs Wilson and Jordie for the most delicious gluten free meals every day! - Room - clean, good size, 3 towel sets every day for our family of 3, balcony was so nice, hot water and great water pressure, super comfortable beds, black out curtains. We loved our garden view room! - Grounds - uneven complaints in the reviews are ridiculous - it’s beautiful cobble stone! So lush and really well maintained - Pools - main pool is amazing. Beach pool is nice too but the swim up bar is closed right now. Once that opens it’ll be great. - Entertainment staff at the pool are fun but not pushy. Really enjoyed their energy - specialty restaurants were great! We ate dinner there every night. - Beach - small but snorkeling right there! If you are a beach person you may be disappointed but rent a car and drive around the island ! Gorgeous beaches! - the kids water park is fantastic. I would suggest hours 9-6pm to give the kids some more time. Suggestions/Needs improvement: - Gym - no wipes to sanitize between machine uses, very limited cardio equipment (a treadmill is a gym staple so I’d definitely suggest that), and needs a fan for air circulation - need more bars open past 6pm. There were long waits for drinks in the evenings. - the Sun loungers/chairs are definitely a big issue as reflected in nearly every review on here. However I will also say that guests who unnecessarily occupy a chair all day when they aren’t using it are also accountable for some of this issue. Overall the vacation was great!!!!!
