Sometimes when you read reviews it makes you wonder about your hotel decision. Will it be as bad as some say etc? So we arrived at the Ritz-Carlton with some trepidation but for no reason at all! From the moment we arrived we were well looked after. A lovely welcome and even better, our room was available when we arrived late morning. Our room was well appointed and very clean. Adored having kitchen and laundry facilities as we do not eat out very often. A spacious bathroom, fluffy and large bed, and a great sized balcony looking out to sea (and fireworks). The room was cleaned superbly every day. The location was terrific, you can easily walk anywhere in Waikiki and we found a great supermarket just across the park. It's very quiet too. Staff were always friendly and polite. As we were there for 10 days, it would have been good to have some drawers to stash away t-shirts etc but we managed with the low table. Anyway, I thoroughly recommend the Ritz-Carlton for your stay in Waikiki, particularly if you are staying for an extended stay.

My wife and I spent seven nights here on our first visit to Hawaii and we had a wonderful experience. I can’t think of one complaint we had over the week we spent there. We used the spa, pool, fitness room, concierge services, room service, and valet. We were pleased and impressed with every interaction including the amazing housekeeping staff. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The location is convenient to shopping, food, and beach. After reading through the reviews and finding some one-star ratings, I’m baffled how someone can stay at this property and have a bad experience. Some of the one-star ratings come off as whiney, spoiled and entitled. If you do have a legitimate issue during your stay, don’t express your displeasure through ineffective one-star reviews. Instead, if you want to make a real difference, be constructive and give management a chance to address your concerns. I’m confident this staff will make every effort to meet any reasonable expectation. Personally, I appreciate spending a night in a luxury hotel, sleeping in a comfortable bed, having a nice hot shower, good food, and a beautiful ocean view. But my apologies, I’m a military veteran and I have slept in some austere accommodations so maybe my expectations aren’t as high as some. As for the staff, Lorna provided the best concierge service I’ve ever experienced (not my first Ritz stay). The week before we arrived, she was professional and responsive in helping us book events based on our interests. I didn’t get the names of the spa staff but they helped make our experience there one of the highlights of our vacation. Jason White, Director of Operations…I’m sorry you have to spend your time engaging with petty internet complaints when you are busy doing a great job with a magnificent property and an amazingly warm, friendly, and attentive staff all around. Jason you should be proud of your team and the fantastic job you are doing. Anyway, don’t let the small number of irrational one-star reviews influence your decision. Give this place a try and experience luxury and service beyond what many residents on this beautiful island ever will in a lifetime.

A reprieve from the hustle of Honolulu. The lobby is open air, the welcome was classy and kind. The rooms were immaculate and had the added convince of a washer and dryer. The staff offered us a lovely umbrella when there was a bit of rain. Just lovely all around.

The hotel was great, one of the pools was down. The other was a bit too intimate for us. The location felt down town and had what comes with that. The hotel and everyone working there were really great, I don’t want to take anything away from that experience.

My husband and I are enjoying our stay here for our honeymoon. The hospitality is amazing and the convenience of having a kitchenette in the room is so helpful for drinks and leftovers. The staff is awesome and so helpful. That to me is the most important thing. The rooms could use some updating but not a big deal given all the other perks.
