Our recent stay at Hyatt Ziva in Los Cabos marked our second visit to this beautiful resort. Situated in a stunning location, it offers an ideal setting for a quick getaway. We chose to celebrate a special anniversary during this trip and had informed the staff in advance. However, we were disappointed that our anniversary was not acknowledged at any point during our stay. Here are the highlights of our experience: The Pros: The service staff, bar staff, cleaning crew, and bartenders were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and personable. Special mention to Maria for her delicious tacos, Jessica at Zafirro for breakfast, Jair for breakfast at the buffet, and the unnamed staff member at Cortez on our first night. The grounds of the resort are meticulously maintained and make the most of the breathtaking views. The pools are spacious and well-maintained. The entertainment staff provided enjoyable and lively shows. However, there were also some drawbacks: The Cons: Our room, booked as an Ocean View Master King, did not meet our expectations. Despite the booking, we only had a partial view of the ocean unless we stood at a specific corner of the balcony. When we inquired about this, we were informed that to change rooms to a higher floor with a full ocean view, we would need to pay an upgrade fee of $120.00 per night despite being told there were rooms in that class at higher floors. During the first two nights of our stay, a large group occupied the resort, resulting in overcrowding and limited dining options. When the group departed, most of the restaurants remained closed for dinner during our final two nights. This left us with long waits for dining unless we opted for the buffet. It was disappointing that none of the available dining options offered the scenic waterfront views that we had hoped for. This aspect significantly detracted from our experience, as we had chosen the resort to enjoy the ocean breeze and views. We felt overlooked by the hotel staff, particularly as we were not part of the large group that seemed to receive preferential treatment. Overall, while the Hyatt Ziva in Los Cabos offers a beautiful setting and excellent service from its staff, there were some notable shortcomings that impacted our experience.

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is a great resort! I enjoyed every second of my stay. Rooms were clean and nice, grounds are beautiful, many dining options, and great entertainment. Above all, the service is amazing. Mitchell in the main buffet, La Plaza, provided such excellent service, it is one of the highlights of our trip. Mitchell’s hospitality is truly outstanding. He surprised us with new drinks to try at every meal without us even asking and gave us an amazing send off on our last day with a surprise cake, even having other servers come out to clap for us and wish us well. All of the staff in La Plaza were extremely efficient and attentive to our needs.

This is a great place to stay for adults and kids. Lots of fun activities. We didn’t feel like it was too loud at night but had a room close to the lobby. Some of the rooms closer to the pool complained of it being loud. Beautiful beach but not swimmable water. Safe to walk around outside of hotel. Amazing food, and service!!
