    We stay for 2 nights, 3 Junior Suites with sea views and a Master Suite Premium Level with Sea Front View and Private Swimming Pool (party of 13). The rooms were great, clean, mini bar stocked and awesome views. Check was easy, however we were not provided anything with information about the resort or what is included with the Master Suite Premium Level with Sea Front View and Private Swimming Pool. Information regarding food and drinks would be highly appreciated. We ate at the buffet multiple times, food at the beach side hut, grill buffet for breakfast and unaware of the ability to make reservations at two of restaurants. Hilda Hernández was an amazing waitress! If you have the ability to ask for her please do. She made our dining experiences special. Like I mentioned party of 13 and not once did we have a moment the we had to wait for drinks food nothing. Hilda is wonderful and 5 stars for her! We did encounter an issue with the buffet menu one night and half of our party was unable to dine due to food allergies. The buffet changes theme of menus and there was no means of notification and also unaware of reservations. When we brought this to the attention to the Front Desk, I was informed I should have notified them of the food allergies and the Captain might be able to offer options. I spoke with the Manager Christian Diaz about options at the restaurants and finally gave the option for the Japanese restaurant and would make an exception for the men in our group to wear shorts. When we arrived, we we informed that Christian made the exception for the reservation but things have changed and now shorts are allowed. I asked to speak with Christian again, at which point was informed he is currently unable to come to the restaurant however I can go to him. The interaction when there was an issue was mishandled greatly by the front staff and management. The mini bars were not stocked any days and was informed by the Front Desk they would look into it and never heard back or stocked. One of our family members cut his legs and feet in the lagoon. He stepped and fell on coral in the lagoon. We the hotel staff provided first aid and great. We we're informed the lagoon had coral and was cut down. There was no signs advising to use caution or to wear water shoes. If you do not encounter any issues that need to be addressed, you will have an amazing time. Aside from the issues we encountered my family enjoyed our time.

    Barcelo Karmina is not a business hotel -- it's a high end luxury all-inclusive beach resort -- but it is the best hotel in town, and worth staying there for business trips. Check-in was unbelievably slow due to old systems, but the staff were excellent all around.

    Beautiful resort, shame about the terrible quality!

    Seriously this resort is absolutely the worst, they are cheeping out on everything. At check in we were lied to, they told us the al a cart restaurants were closed. My friend asked to speak to the manager and it turned out they were not closed. They didn’t want us to go. The food at the Italian restaurant was barely edible and it was only a third full. The wine tasted like vinegar, we had to pay for a bottle of wine. The mixed drinks have no alcohol at all. The bad quality doesn’t stop there, the buffet was more like a high school cafeteria, honestly all the food was cold, tasteless and huge lines. I get it, this is COVID but they are cutting quality on everything. I have never been to a 5 star with such bad quality. I do not like to write bad reviews on any business but this one was absolutely necessary. Our bathroom door fell off the tracks, the air conditioner in our room didn’t work and our toilet was leaking out the bottom. Came for a rest not to work!

    The hotel was very nice and clean. There was a lot of pools to use. We ate dinner at the agave restaurant and the food was tasty. The only problem we had was there was only hot water in our shower no cold water I notified the front desk and was back up in an hour. We ordered room service and that was good as well. Very nice view from our room.

    Overall good experience nice staff and splendid hotel, we we're just passing by and waiting for our result for swab test and flight to the phillipines, the company we are working for booked us here and its a wonderful experience all in all.
