Stay somewhere else

Hotel: 4/5 pretty nice & big - rooms could use some upgrading & there’s no beach, you have to take the hotel’s transportation & it’s a bit of work by the time you get to the beach all chairs are taken unless you go super early. Food: 3/5 we couldn’t book any restaurants so we had to eat at the buffet all week & food was okay.. Staff: 2/5 I would say I’m quite disappointed, we’ve always had a great experience every time we travel to Mexico but this time I’m not sure why but the staff here were rude, from the second we arrived & checked in the girl was giving us attitude, most of the waiters/waitresses & front desk people looked like they didn’t wanna be there, they would walk away while we were ordering. The manager at the buffet and Alexis at front desk were the nicest people. Service needs MAJOR improvement. there’s no staff serving drinks or food by the pools, you have to go get your own drink/food every time to the snack bar. The hotel has “topless not allowed” signs everywhere (which is great considering it is a family resort) & there was a lady topless in her balcony by the kids pool & nobody said anything & also a guy in a thong. They need to be more strict with these rules. The entertainment team was great but at the pool foam party they were dancing like they’re at a strip club (again, it’s a family resort) Rooms are a bit far and if you have kids (strollers etc) make sure you get ground floor rooms because they don’t have elevators. I guess it’s okay for the price you’re paying but I would recommend staying somewhere else.

Good resort minus a few bad points.

Kesh269 (Wolverhampton, United Kingdom) on Apr 11, 2024

Mexico was amazing, the resort was great apart from the room was dated and smelt badly of damp and the inner area of the resort (restaurants/lobbys/entertainment area) had no air con only fans which was just circulating the heat around. The facilities within the resort where very good, the choice of a la carts was very good but advice to anyone attending would be to book the a la cart restaurants the day you get there as if you don't you won't get to use them. Another great thing was that we could use the facilities of the neighbouring grand bahia tulum and akumal resorts. We only used the beach on tulum which was a nice beach didn't use the akumal resort. The food was great but as mentioned earlier no air con any where so your practically siting sweating and eating and if you have any of the Mexican food (jalepenos) your going to feel worse lol. Overall the options in all the meals at the buffet where great. Oh contrary to what people tell you you don't have to tip everywer you go that's your choice no one says anything if you don't or if you do they don't realy care.
