What a joke - 4 stars
Reviewed by fykinvest(Vancouver, Canada) on Nov 29, 2019
Our group of 21 just left this afternoon. Most of us are seniors. We all had bad experience about this so-called 4 star hotel. The toilets are smelly and filthy. A member of our group had to give a bottle to the housekeeper to get towels changed! It seems to be the policy not to change towels regardless how dirty they are. The buffet servers are friendly despite the quality of food is below par. I can understand that there are short supply of everything but if you charge patrons for 4 star price, you should provide them with equal quality of food. Unfortunately, this is not the case. They just rinse the wine glasses in the bar and use them again. I don’t know if they recycle the plastic cups! We tipped our servers almost daily because they are courteous and friendly. When we checked and stored our lugs with the front desk after checking out, we had to carry our own lugs and the doorman gave us the “look” when we did not tip him. We would have done so if he offered to carry our lugs! The ladies at front desk are quite arrogance to say the least. When we went out, we had to pay to use the washroom regardless the horrible conditions of the washrooms. We know that it Is always the case in Europe but you don’t have to do it if you frequent the eatery. In Cuba, you pay for your drink and also pay for the use of the washroom in the same establishment! The keepers always demand for one CUC per person! At the airport, you cannot use any CUC once past the security. A man in uniform approached us to change 1CUC for 1 Canadian. When I past the security, I took out my CUC coins and put them through the X-ray. Magically, they just vanished in thin air! We shopped at the duty free. All the prices are in CUC but they do not accept CUC. Different cashier gave us different price in US. The difference was well over 10%! When asked, they simply talked in Spanish until you gave up. We met a gentleman at a local store who simply refused to take any tip. There are decent people around but many of them are trying to scam tourists.

My experience at the Be live Experience Turquesa Hotel was horrible. First off to start our check-in experience was very unpleasant as the front desk staff are extremely rude. Our bus arrived after 9pm on Sunday at the hotel and our group was denied check in. We were informed by the front desk staff that we needed to print our hotel confirmation to check in. On the confirmation from the airlines, there was no mention that we needed to print anything, They refused to check us in based on our phone confirmations and requested for each group to pay $1 CUC to get internet access and email our confirmations to the front desk and then we could check in. On the first day I attempted to go to the gym. The gym times were from 9:30am -7pm. However, no one had opened the gym until after 10 am when I called and walked over to the front desk to advise them. The gym was filthy. All the machines are rusted (see pictures below)! The exercise equipments are stained with sweat from previous people using the gym. The treadmill was sticky from a lack of being cleaned and the washroom in the gym did not contain toilet paper, soap or paper towel! Do not let the pictures from the website fool you! The rooms (especially bathroom) and Gym do not look anything like the pictures. They are filthy! The room: We were only given 1 water bottle for the entire stay and was informed that we can get it refilled at the bars with tap water throughout the day. To ensure your belongings are safe, please note the hotel charges a $2 CUC charge per day to use the safe in your room. The towels that were in our room were always dirty and my sheets had blood all over them on the first night. They were changed immediately once I complained! The resort: The daytime snack bar was closed the entire week we were there as they were using it for the A La Carte as the A La Carte restaurant was closed due to construction. The snack bar near the bar was not available on Friday or Saturday night which was very disappointing. The resort only played local and Spanish music, no English songs, so a lot of ppl brought speakers and played music at the pool and it was a lot of fun! Bring your own portable speakers. The Food: Extremely disappointing. I came back with a parasite and had to take antibiotics for 3 days! The grill stations mainly served fish, pork and hamburgers. However, often the meat was undercooked and the staff did not understand you when you asked for it well done. The fish was often served still pink in the middle. We found hair in our food on 2 occasions on separate nights. We were not able to eat the rest of our meals. The A la Carte was worse than the Buffet. Stick to the Buffet option. The first night that I was sick was from the A La Carte. @aircanadavacations, this hotel needs to be rated as a 2 star on your website or not offered as an option. We met with our Air Canada Rep on the first day. Many of the guest had voiced their concerns about the bad check-in process along with unclean rooms and other problems. She disregarded our concerns and said that those were complaints that she often got regarding this hotel and there was nothing she could do. Air Canada, you need to do better! The Pros: very accessible to bus to Downtown Veradero. Beach is only a few steps off the resort. Activities offered daily at the pool. Pool Is clean. Small resort with lots of staff. Also Hotel charges an additional 8-9% than the bank & other resorts to exchange your Canadian to the CUC.

Love the animation team. Andy is a cool and fun dude, called me salsa boy. Food is ok, restaurant waiters were nice. Swimmingpool has got good entertainment. Lobby staff were correct, unfortunately there was a just married couple on honeymoon, they got no special treatment. Sad. Lobby bar should be opened earlier then 10’o-clock 8 or 9 would be nice. Had a two week holiday at this place and enjoyed it. Greetz. Salsa Boy

I had a wonderful time at Turquesa, good location, beautiful beach and very friendly staff. Especially Alejandro and Yuya from the Entertainment team made my holiday great. Every day lots of fun with dancing lessons, and games in the swimming pool. I will come back!
don't go there

Grounds look nice, that where it ends. Food is not good, had potatoes not fully cooked, some food warm and greasy. Rooms are old and need of repair. Washroom by the Party Bar, toilets did not flush after they had been used, and no toilet paper plus the reviews from other people are right.
