We spent our 50th anniversary as first timers at Sandals Barbados. We really enjoyed and appreciated the butler service they proved as part of our travel package. We had no friends or family there with us to help celebrate our special day. Our personal butlers Sasha, Sharlene, and Petrona treated us like family, including treating us to a private celebratory lunch. Their commitment to seeing that our special day and our entire stay at Sandals was the best vacation we have had was much appreciated.

I have experienced the most horrendous customer service at the Sandals in Barbados. On our last day of stay on such a beautiful island my partner and I experienced the worst disrespect and careless customer service. We missed our flight due to an excursion that we went on previously that day. We asked to speak to a manager regarding the mixup and the misunderstanding that we had regarding our departure date. Sandals was very careless when it came down to checking customers out and leaving the premises. They never once asked for our names nor room information when leaving the resort. Staying in a five star resort I expected five star treatment but my partner and I were treated with no respect nor empathy. We asked to speak to a manager and a women approached us stating that she was the manager on duty and she would be willing to help because she has never experienced a situation like this before. We later went to our room to gather our items just in case we found a flight that evening. We went back down to the lobby and the reception stated that there was another manager on duty and the previous one that we had spoken to has ended her shift for the day. We were introduced to a gentleman by the name of Ricardo who stated that he was the new Manger on duty. He didn’t have the most genuine welcome from the beginning and soon to find out that he was very unapologetic. He spoke to us in private room and stated that the only thing he could do to help was offer is a nights stay for an absurd amount of money and remove the excursion from the bill. He did not once understand nor recognize the lack of customer service on the management. Our flight was booked for the next morning at 6:00 am, at this time it was 8:00pm so we didn’t understand why we needed to purchase a full nights stay. We asked Ricardo if we could speak to someone above him and he stated that he would go get the General Manager. Ricardo approached us with a man by the name of Charles who stated that he was the General Manger. He was dressed very sharp in a black suite and asked us how can he help us. We explained to him our situation and he said that there was nothing he can do. I began to get very upset because I didn’t understand why I was not treated like a paying customer and people make mistakes everyday. I should feel protected and treated with care if I’m staying in there establishment but they made us feel like we were animals and they did not accommodate us like we were staying at a five star Resort, it felt more like a Motel 6 treatment. Charles did not want to make eye contact at all and he seemed to look very flush in the face. I noticed that there was a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. He stated that he had stepped out of a dinner to handle the situation. Ricardo and Charles both stated that we had to leave because there was nothing they can do to help. Ricardo walked us to our room to get our bags and items. On our way out we walked past the front desk and noticed the the General Manger Charles that we were speaking with had on a regular uniform as the workers that work on the resort. He was not wearing the fancy suite that he had on when he spoke to us. We were very confused and did not understand why we were being lied to. Ricardo then escorted us to the street. We are American so we didn't know about the streets of Barbados, We were nervous and scared because anything could have happen to us. There was a taxi driver near by that took us to a hotel for the the four hours we had left on the island. This was the most horrifying and dreadful experience that I have ever had. I travel very often and I have never been kicked out into the streets of another country where it is not safe. I hope no one ever has to experience what we went through at the Sandals in Barbados.

I chose Sandals for my honeymoon because I wanted a all inclusive venue so that I didn't have to think about getting food and drinks and could just enjoy the week. I could have made a better choice. From the time we got off the plane and met with their staff at the airport we were pleasantly met. Initially when I booked a couple months prior to the trip I decided to get the regular sized room. However it being our honeymoon I asked for an upgraded room which they were able to accommodate. I actually went from a regular room and got a new room with a butler. The additional price was definitely worth it. We had three butlers on our trip and they made our trip extra special. Every request no matter how small was dealt with the utmost importance. The resort has really spoiled all other vacations as every single employee was extremely nice and friendly. Will definitely have to try every sandals resort all around the carribean.

We had a great time with 6 other couples. The resort is beautiful. The food was good. Drinks were ok but they didn’t offer my my faves so I’m a little biased. Everyone in our group had a great time. This was an economical way to have a group trip with the least amount of preparation. Our travel agent set up everything. Take the private catamaran over the “booze cruise “. That was the best activity of our week.
