Disappointing hotel in the heart of Waikiki

This hotel was a total disappointment. When I say the rooms are small, I’m totally underestimating it. We were originally assigned a room with a single king sized bed, my husband and I could barely turn around. We asked to upgrade and were quickly accommodated. This room was little better. Still quite small, no elevator access and in desperate need of updating. The bathroom shower head was falling out of the wall. The rooms open to the outside and are very noisy. I would not recommend this hotel.

One night stay before our rental property could let us check in

We had a week in Waikiki and we couldn’t check into our rental property for 24hrs after we arrived from NYC. The hotel is located in the heart of Waikiki. The check in staff was great and everyone all around was very nice and friendly. The concierge was very helpful to help plan activities and how to get around Waikiki. The pool and the bar are very close to the lobby so you don’t have to go far. As a Plat Elite, we are given comp upgrades but not in this case which was fine because we were only here for one night. The room itself was TINY. It felt very cramped for 2 people and the bathroom was even smaller. If I was staying more than one night I would def ask for a different room. Overall, location and staff were great!!

One of the few hotels without so called Resort fee.

I am sure you have heard of resort fees when you book the hotel, especially vacationing in Hawaii. This hotel does not have a resort fee, a rare gem. To me, resort fee is one of the biggest scams provided by hotels in my opinion. I try to stay away from it if possible. Even my company pays for it, I still will not stay at any hotels that have a resort fee. It is not about saving money, but it is such a waste of money. Imagine you stay for 5 nights and resort fee costs $35((average). It does add up. So I stayed at this hotel a few times. It is still a walking distance from anywhere. Close to restaurants and shops, especially ABC stores. The room is small but it is okay. They gave me a room on the member floor and the shower room was so small I barely fit in. It was so ridiculous. Lucky I only stayed for 2 nights. Please upgrade the room if possible. I will stay here again when I come back here again in Nov. the hotel has a nice small pool. No free bottle of water for anyone even I am a platinum member. I guess water bottles are precious here. You can buy cheap water bottles at ABC stores for a buck. See, you can buy 35 water bottles with money you saved from not paying for the stupid resort fees.

Stayed one night after cruise, arrived hotel around 9:30 am, check in was quick but room was not available, headed down to Chinatown for dim sum and back at 1:30 pm, the agent, Marisa, who checked us in earlier spotted us and addressed us by our last name and assigned a room to us right the way, she also checked us out the next day, very efficient, good manner and always has a big smile. Other staffs are very friendly as well. The room was ordinary, but the wall was thin and loud noise when flushing the toilet. The internet signal in our room 903 was very strong by the doorway, but was very weak at bed side, it kept connecting and disconnecting, call technical support but no avail. All in all, still a good stay, however, without the excellent staff, it will only worth 2.5 or 3 stars at the most.

I love this hotel. I was fortunate enough to be in Hawaii for six weeks for work. I stayed in this hotel my last week. Everything is walking distance and easy to get anywhere. Hawaii has a great public transportation system, and most everything is 1.5 away. If you stay near I suggest walking across the river, this where the locals mostly eat. The prices will be cheaper and portions larger. If you never had spam, well it is everywhere, even Mc Donald's has a spam burger. Oh and there's chicken katsu. It is also on every menu, it's good stuff you'll like it. There is a great bar right across street, it's small and kinda a dife bar but great staff and cheaper prices than closer to beach.
