Active Advisories
Following American Hotel & Lodging Association's (AHLA) recent announcement of its "Safe Stay Guest Checklist"—and following medical expert guidance to help reduce the spread of COVID-19—all Hyatt hotels in the U.S. and Canada will require face coverings within indoor public areas beginning Monday, July 27, for the foreseeable future.
Public areas may include hotel lobbies, meetings and events spaces, restaurants and bars, and fitness centers. Some guests may be exempt from this mandate, including but not limited to guests with medical conditions, guests consuming food or beverages in restaurants, and children under the age of 2.

Best asset of Hyatt Place: the STAFF!

The friendly and caring HOTEL STAFF makes this hotel priceless. Concierge, Bell Service, Front Desk, Housekeeping, Breakfast Crew.... i salute them all for their kindness and sincerity to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Our Room had an excellent view of Waikiki Beach, bed comfy, toiletries provided, housekeeping staff GERALDINE was consistently wonderful. Location was also great. Beach was just a 2 minute walk, bus stop to Ala Moana Center a minute walk. Honolulu Zoo just around the corner. There were food trucks beside the Hyatt and that was great. ABC Stores abound so near, and Denny's at the corner was great!! Very safe area as well!
Okay stay in excellent location

I did a ton of research on the hotels in area so hoping my experience can help. This one is geared for those with little kids, so disregard if you don’t have kids! Pros: You get something for the “resort fee”- I hate these fees but getting the $5 credit, breakfast and beach towels & chairs/sand toys every day made it feel not so bad. Breakfast is nothing gourmet but it changes up and has all the staples. Nice Many hotels don’t offer this stuff for the resort fee, so I appreciated it. You also get a little cheap tote and two water bottles. Location is awesome- 2 blocks from beach but area feels chill (compared to a few blocks down). Marriott across the street has restaurants and Starbucks (and car rental w after hours returns). The area of the beach is perfect for swimming with little kids since the walls block the waves. My kids loved swimming there. Domino’s in lobby for when you are lazy and get sick of going out to eat - it hit for us on our last night! Beds are comfy and housekeeping staff is excellent Cons: Elevator- omg it was brutally slow. I saw other posts and thought - can’t be that bad but it was- at breakfast, you’ll be waiting almost 10 mins. Good time to get some cardio in on the stairs which is what I did when I was without the kids. Noise level- this is away from the Main Street but guests cause the noise- a group of high school kids were out at the pool with no supervision going HAM every night. It literally sounded like a rager happening - I wish they would double pane the glass so that it wouldn’t disturb other people- we couldn’t sleep for 3 nights til after 10 (when pool closes) and this sucked with 2 little kids that kept getting woken up. I texted management but nothing changed. I totally get it is spring break but just help everyone out and double pane the glass. We stayed on 17th floor (Mountain View room) and it sounded like this party was outside our door from 3rd floor. Pool- I likely would not have booked this had I looked closer at the pool. It was very little 6 vibes, no vacation vibes at this pool but it worked to jump in after the beach. Bathroom- No bathtub in “upgraded” room. This was a little frustrating cause either called to confirm a pack and play and that we were arriving with 2 little kids and would need that as well as a bathtub - they did the upgrade charge but when we got in, only a shower but we were too exhausted to change (and we’d waited at elevator with luggage for a loooong time). Also the shower was mildewy and kinda gross but there’s no ventilation in bathroom so I suppose that’s to be expected. There was a heated toilet and bidet though? All in all, good value near the beach but try to book a room on a lower floor unless you are kid less and want some cardio!
