Would travel again!

Michelle S on Apr 14, 2024

Las brisas was a beautiful expansive hotel with great dining, staff and location. I went for a 40th birthday trip friends-trip and We had the most beautiful views and a private beach to keep us content. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating! One of the best features is that the hotel is mere minutes from the airport!

Overall great experience.

Kelly O (Calgary, Canada) on Apr 10, 2024

A group of nine of us (combination of couples and singles) stayed at Las Brisas in February 2024. The resort is quite large but they have carts consistently going around and once you get the walking paths figured out it's quite easy to navigate. The beaches were amazing (as well as the service on the beach). The rooms were great (we didn't have a balcony, but didn't feel we missed out). Meals were decent. We did expect more from the seafood bar but no real complaints. Nightly entertainment was good. Overall everything is great. Tips: get the beach early if you want the big beach, chairs fill up quickly. The other two beaches will likely have chairs. My room was fine but other guest's room did have a couple of creature visits, use the room spray to prevent. While in Huatulco, check out the waterfalls. Trip does take most of the day but worth it!

Well worth the stay

jhO9805WJ (Richmond, Canada) on Apr 06, 2024

First and foremost our overall stay was amazing, the staff were very friendly, hardworking and professional, the resort was clean the rooms were clean and comfortable.and overall very quiet and family oriented and not a party type atmosphere. They have a book exchange in the shop near the wedding event place which is a nice touch, and the bird watching tour was great, pablo was a great guide. It’s not a big deal by any means but it was hard to find a coffee in the morning and would of been nice to find some tables and chairs set up throughout the resort to sit and have a morning coffee and read a read or do a crossword. The food was hit and miss the burgers were fried and not grilled and hard to find toppings like lettuce cheese tomato etc, The bacon and sausage at breakfast seemed like it was deep fried and overcooked, the steamed vegetables at dinner were still hard enough the fork wouldn’t go through, the fries were put in a steam table and got soggy rather quickly, though we always found something to eat. So not sure if they were sort staffed in the kitchen and rushed ?????, but overall we would come back in a heartbeat.

Amazing hotel, disappointing spa experience

Anastasia-Mishchenko (Victoria, Canada) on Apr 03, 2024

We loved our stay in Las Brisas. The swimming at the hotel beaches was amazing with lots of guarded space for a good 30-45min swim (Manzanilla beach). We also enjoyed some snorkelling at the reef by the shore (Ventura beach), and just chilling at various locations by the water. We highly recommend Beach Club rooms, the views of the ocean are stunning, we even saw two dolphins from our balcony once! and you can dine at one of many a la carte restaurants every night. The food is way above average, there is a lot of organic produce offered, variety of seafood, all sorts of meat grills and great fruit and vegetable selection. Mexican traditional cuisine is well represented at breakfast, lunch and dinner, we tried several authentic Oaxacan dishes - which are delicious! Unfortunately I was disappointed with the spa experience. Although ambiance of the spa is very pleasant, calming and well-designed, massage tables are quite uncomfortable, no matter how much I tried to adjust my body position, I kept feeling excess pressure in my neck, head and shoulders. The lady providing massage had not bad techniques and was following the feedback to adjust/find comfortable pressure levels (during deep tissue massage), but then very bizarrely at the very end of the session she braided my hair and left the room. At first, while still on the table at the end of the session, I thought it is a part of the technique to collect my hair to maybe slightly pull on it, as I experienced that e.g. during facial reflexology (elsewhere) as a nice finishing touch, but when I opened my eyes and after touching my hair I realized that it was braided. I was quite annoyed by it and asked the lady why did she do it and she just giggled and said I have a lot of hair. This was very strange to me and unpleasant, I let her know that I didn’t like it, and explained that I imagine many people would not like their hair touched/braided with intention, without their permission, and left a little disappointed. I wish the spa staff was better trained to respect people boundaries and make their stay at the spa more relaxing and pleasant. Outside of the spa, the staff was amazing, the people who work at the restaurants, attending to rooms, at the reception and these who take care of entertainment all were awesome! We chatted with many and enjoyed laughing with them and learning a little bit of Spanish! :) We would highly recommend staying at Las Brisas, but not the spa experience.

Awesome Spring Break in Huatulco!

pharmacist2000 (Winnipeg, Canada) on Apr 02, 2024

This all-inclusive resort was truly one of the best that we’ve ever been to. Yes, it is very large - too large, really - so if you have mobility issues, I would recommend finding a smaller resort. They have drivers on motorized carts that take you around the resort everywhere, back and forth to your room, 24 hours a day, but I would not like to be having to depend on them for your transportation all the time. And, remember that this area is a huge former volcano/hill that drops off into the bay, so everything is up and down, and a lot of stairs. You will definitely get your workouts/steps in at this resort! The Las Brisas has everything you need. Five a la carte restaurants, a couple of snack bars, two main buffet restaurants, gym, basketball, tennis, volleyball, pickleball courts, four beaches, and the entertainment every night was great! The servers are top notch and make you feel right at home for the week. The food was varied and excellent; definitely not the same stuff being put out every night! The beaches are great and there was plenty of chairs for everyone. Same with the pools. This is a wonderful resort and we would definitely come back!
