A little noisy for us. We were on the side of the hotel that had the pool and bar between the buildings. BUT the location was perfect. Also I had great snorkeling right off the beach. Great location to walk and gets meals offsite. Good restaurants nearby.

This hotel is in a great location, as it’s by the beach and the strip with shops and restaurants. Ululani shave ice is also located in the hotel, which is great for the hot days. The gym is spacious with moderately new equipment. A family friend pool that’s sizeable is offered as well. Room was basic and clean, albeit a bit dated.

For the amount of money (room as well as buffet breakfast) it was EXORBITANTLY overpriced and service was awful. 30.00 for buffet breakfast and only 2 egg offerings and only bacon as meat was offered. Salt and pepper shakers were not filled. No screens on window so birds flew into dining area and nibbled at the food while you stepped away from your table. I was first to enter breakfast the morning and it was evident no one had swept the dining room floor after restaurant had closed night before. The smaller vessel on which my coffee cream was delivered had not been washed (it was was disgusting) Again, given hotel name. Marriott, and the nightly price, room had poor bathroom lighting, no toiletries other than soap. Very. Very disappointing. Would not recommend .

We had the most fabulous time at this king Kamehameha hotel. We did not want to leave, the hospitality was out of this world. We were treated special and spoiled so much that we felt very important to every employee. From the cleaning crew, the breakfast staff and the front desk we felt taken care of. Genevieve, Lana and Ned from the breakfast staff were very pleasant to see every morning. Ned was great and gave us great tips for exploring the island. Steve at the parking gate also was helpful and friendly. Hihona at the front desk had the best hospitality, she was kind and caring. She went out her way with our needs. We will go back! We highly recommend to all who visit Kona Island to stay at King Kamehameha. This is without a doubt the best place in Kona.

The hotel is situated in an exceptional location. Directly across the street lies downtown Kailua Kona, an area renowned for its abundance of quality dining options. The accommodations, while clean, are notably compact, akin to the spatial constraints one might encounter aboard a cruise ship. The range of amenities provided by the hotel is somewhat restricted, which calls into question the justification for the substantial resort fee charged. However, it is important to acknowledge the commendable service provided by the staff, all of whom I found to be exceedingly friendly and accommodating. This establishment can be accurately described as a pleasant three-star hotel benefiting from a prime location, though it does not meet the criteria typically associated with a luxurious resort hotel.
