Huge pool, nice grounds, no beach, not for the serious traveler.

Very large resort a long way from anything, but very pretty. There are many restaurants and very many employees, so some good experience some bad, mostly disappointing This is definitely not the place for you if you are a seasoned traveler or expecting a luxury experience. All the wine in the resort ice cold, in the lobby bar, and all the restaurants including the top end ones, and the selection is very poor. I ate one unfortunate breakfast at the restaurant on the first floor near the lobby. They advertised fresh squeezed juice, I asked if the grapefruit juice was fresh squeezed and told absolutely. They brought me some pinkish purple drink that contained no juice and looked like grapefruit flavored something out of a bottle. So I requested orange juice and told it was fresh squeezed, at least it was orange juice but definitely not fresh squeezed, out of a box. I live in Cost Rica we grow fruit where I live, I squeeze my own juice every morning, I know the difference. I find it alarming Marriott would deceive their customers so blatantly. Food also was bad staff was bad. If you like to swim with lots and lots of kids, including many small infants in diapers, this is the place for you. The pool is full of them and there is no adult pool. There is no beach, it's posted no beach no swimming. Service by the pool is horrific, they run out of towels and many amenities. Some good, The front desk staff was amazing! Much of the staff was amazing, unfortunately the farther you get from the front desk the worse the service gets. Food at the pool bar was excellent and if you sat there they were very attentive. The room was very nice, I did hear many guests complain they had no hot water. It is a gorgeous pool and the grounds are very nice, clean, and well maintained. Transportation to and from town and the airport were efficient and nice. Checkin checkout was very easy and quick. There is a resort fee that is charged daily, not sure for what since you still paid for events. Such as cocktails at sunset $30 for an hour of a very limited bar on the beach, bonfire on the beach $10 small fire in a container, beach is public so the $10 gets you a stick and a marshmellow or 2. For tourist maybe great not for people who travel regularly.

Beautiful resort. Here on a work reward trip. It’s pretty far from everything which is a plus and minus. The last 15 min on the road into the resorts is horrendous. The road is full of potholes. Huge pool. Gorgeous sunsets. Rooms are nice and the food is really good by resort standards.

Our trip started before we even left the USA with the hotel cancelling my hotel reservations on me and not letting me know. It took about 3 hours but after multiple calls we were able to get everything rebooked, however it caused a lot of undue stress before the trip even started. The hotel never offered an apology, they acted as if nothing happened at all. For a resort of this caliber I expected more. We arrived at the resort on Friday afternoon and everything was great. On Saturday mid-afternoon my mother in law slipped off one of the bridges that crosses the pool as she stepped onto the pavement and took quite a fall. She was badly injured. We had a nurse sent to her room, who inadequately accessed her injury and tried to wrap a shattered toe in bandages that ultimately needed emergency surgery as she had shatter the big toe bone and was at major risk for bone infection as the nurse did not even suggest she needed stitches. Sunday morning my mother in law woke up with her bed covered in blood from her toe injury and immediately called for another nurse who said you need stitches. They called for a DR who said you need Xray's, as he was VERY concerned it was broken. She had to arrange transportation to the hospital in Liberia at her own shocking cost of $340 USD. She had to have emergency surgery and IV's of antibiotics as the risk for bone infection was VERY high. She returned to the hotel Monday night. Not once did the hotel offer their apologies to her as she was seriously injured just walking on the hotel's property. Not once did the hotel offer to do anything to accommodate her, make her more comfortable, offer their condolences, etc. The maids are the only ones who said or did anything, they made her a sign and gave her flowers and shaped towels. In the US if you're injured on hotel property someone at least addresses you about it. She lost Saturday evening, all day Sunday and Monday of her vacation as a direct result of her fall and the JW nurse not being able to properly suggest care! Yet, not even a complimentary breakfast was offered! When we checked out, again no one from the hotel said anything to any of us about Linda being injured on their property. The food was inconsistent but mostly still good. The breakfast was absurdly slow if you didn't do the buffet and the buffet was expensive and unpleasant.

Me and my family are wrapping up our week long vacation at this resort. Simply wonderful. From the accommodations to the food to the friendliest staff in the world. Would love to come back someday. And soon!
