We stayed at Boulder Ridge at the Wilderness Lodge for Thanksgiving week in 2018. I think it is still my favorite resort albeit Animal Kingdoms Kadani Village is close. Very relaxing. The Lodge was decorated for Christmas and the Thanksgiving dinner was out of this world! Make reservations early. My husband and I mostly loved the bar/grill down by the pool area. The food was delicious and we could sit in the evening and watch the water lights show. Easy boat ride to Magic Kingdom. The two Disney VC's are close to lodge so it was an easy walk to the lobby. Very quite. Highly recommend or maybe I shouldn't they were already booked for this Thanksgiving :(

Fantastic rooms and service, good transportation but with a so-so pool and limited dining on-site.

Our family needed three beds, so we ended up in a 2BR villa at Wilderness Lodge. The room itself and the hotel staff were fantastic. It is a great place out of which to base a Disney vacation as there is direct bus service to every park (although it can be a little tricky to get to other resorts) and a very convenient boat service to Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary. My biggest gripe are the food options. There is a character dining dinner restaurant (which we could never get in to), a sit-down restaurant with a limited menu consisting of random piles of food in a pan, an outdoor lounge with a very limited menu, and a counter-service restaurant that is the equivalent of the continental breakfast that would be free at any other hotel. The drink stations are also not convenient specifically for those staying in the Villas as they are a bit of a walk from anything. We ended up spending a lot of time on transportations going to other locations for dinners and made do with the counter-service restaurant for breakfast. The pools are just OK. The main pool is far from the Villas, has a small waterslide, and can get fairly crowded. The second pool is closer to the villas but doesn't offer anything special. We didn't spend much time at the pool, however, so it wasn't a major problem. We also struggled to find stairs in the building. We were on the second floor and really did not want to keep using the elevator. We never did find the stairs.

Our stay at Boulder Ridge was fabulous. The room was convenient to the bus stop and the pool. Easy walk to the boat dock. The one bed room provided us the space to relax and have some space. Plus it had washer/dryer access in the room. Located With easy access to the Wilderness lodge.

    Great stay as always

Boulder Ridge is my absolute favorite so I was excited to be staying there again. As always, we were greeted as soon as we got off the Magical Express and walked into the lobby. There was no wait for checking in which made the start to the trip even better. After walking for what seemed like an hour to the villas, we got to our room. We had the very last room at the end of the hall. That walk got tiring fast, but obviously there wasn't anything we could do about it, so I just sucked it up. Although we had such a long walk to the room, that was one of the best views I've gotten in the 7 times I've stayed there. On our balcony, you could see and hear the boats passing by as well as the water pageant at night!! The only downside from being so far away was we had to walk completely across the property for the foodcourt and the boat to Magic Kingdom, which we ended up at every night. But it's a beautiful walk, so it's not dreadful! The only problem with the room was the wifi and tv never seemed to work. The wifi kept disconnecting and my texts would never send. A few channels (that weren't the park hours and other resort channels) worked, but most would freeze and pause ever couple of seconds. It could possibly be that our location was so far out and really in the trees, but we didn't feel like it was actually worth calling since we were at the parks till closing every night. Breakfast at Whispering Canyon was delicious as always and never disappoints! Overall, it was a great stay as usual and I'm already thinking about my next stay here!

My husband and I love the Wilderness Lodge property in Disney World. We decided to do a quick trip for July 4th weekend and Boulder Ridge Villas had availability so we booked a studio suite. The building and pool area is lovely. It is not one of the newer Disney Vacation Club properties but is well maintained. Our room was well laid out as far as floor plan. But then I discovered that bathroom. It was accessible which is fine but the shower water ran out all over the floor which made for a slippery mess every time. I shudder to think how bad it would be for disabled people! Thank goodness they are generous with towels so we were able to mop it up. The sink had no counter space which anyone will tell you is a total pain to deal with—even my husband agreed. The pillows in the fold out sofa were awful. No support at all. The fold out sofa itself was one of the nicer ones—no bar in your back. But if you are going to charge about $400 a night for a room, you need to do better.
