Family trip

My husband had a dental conference here in April 2024. After reading some of the reviews I was a little worried this hotel would not deliver on the amount we spent. Well it delivered. We had an amazing time. Hotel area: The grounds are stunning in the spring. Flowers are everywhere. Pool area, kids playground, and room were all clean. The map makes everything look spread out but we stayed in 246 and everything was in walking distance (not sure about the golf area bc we didn't golf). Our room had a microwave, fridge, robes, slippers, shampoo and conditioner. Also a patio with a table to relax in the morning with a cup of coffee. Soooo relaxing. Parking: There is ample parking and if you have a Tesla there are a few chargers by the main lobby and spa. We could park right outside our room. Parking is fee. When you get to the resort and need to check in, you can park in the lot. If you uber, you can leave your luggage with the bellhop, and they will drive you to your room there in a golf cart. Pool: Pool area is clean with ample chairs. After noon it does get busy, but we could find a chair each time. They have a kiddie pool that is 2 1/2- 3 feet with kid chairs around it. Almost all chairs have an umbrella with them. I liked how they played music at a volume that was appropriate. Towels did run out at one location but there are about 4 locations that have towels out. Cold water is available throughout the pool area. One thing I loved was the servers around the pool. They were friendly and accommodating. Nick made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our day. Hot tub was nice and there are 2. One is in the adult pool. Food was good at the pool and drinks were strong. Of course they are expensive. I think a bucket (4) of high noon was $36. Frozen drinks were really good. I brought toys for my 4-year-old to play with in the kiddie pool. Food: We only ate lunch at Hoppin Jacks at the pool and breakfast and dinner Rita's. Hoppin Jacks food was perfect for lunch by the pool. Rita's breakfast is either menu or buffet. Good omelets and pancakes. There was never a wait for breakfast inside or outside. We made reservations for dinner so we could sit outside. Drinks were strong and good. I really liked my Wagyu Burger and my husband liked his Adobo Beef Short Rib. There is a children's menu here for both breakfast and dinner. Other: Above the spa there is a cute western town and the entrance to a hiking path. It takes about 30 minutes to hike (I had a 4 year old who kept wanting to stop and look around) We wore sneakers, and it was fine.

Disappointing to say the least.

We had a group go to Rita’s Cantina for happy hour / early dinner. Love the atmosphere there, one of the most beautiful places in the valley. The food however at Rita’s was not up to par - nowhere near what I would expect at an upscale resort in Paradise Valley. There were 12 of us and 12 of us were disappointed. Unfortunately we won’t be back.
