    The best part about this trip was the amazing service we received from Alejandro at the breakfast buffet. We have stayed at numerous AM resorts in the past and this one is on the lower end of their price offering and it is reflected in the lack of amenities. Other reviewers criticized the food, but we found it to be better than expected and enjoyed the service in the lobby bar and the Skytop location. Our room was on the 7th floor overlooking the pool and evening entertainment. I might have enjoyed a room closer quieter and closer to the beach. Bottom line: for a quick unexpected opportunity to get out of the snow, it was OK. We will definitely go to one of the upgraded AM resorts in the future.

    We booked this hotel for Christmas holidays 2019. During the time of check in, one of the concierge came to us and said, that if we would not like the room, we can upgrade it and he would help us. They gave us "the standard" room, which was like dirty prison cell, there was no space for our luggage,dirt on the floor, a hole in the wall revealing pipes and cables, bathroom so small, that only one person would fi in. So, of course we went back to the reception and told them that, but to upgrade, we had to pay over $500, unless "we agree to go with the concierge to the PROMOTION meeting", which was for time-share program. We already been at such few years back and were not interested. For us it was like cheating, they give this room to many people (we heard another couple complaining about the room the same day, too), knowing that most would want to upgrade. We never had such situation at any hotel before! Also the concierge asked us if we can manage with our luggage to our room and took us only to the elevator, explaining that the room is on the 3rd floor. At every hotel we visited before, the boy always took our luggage and lead us to the room directly! When we got a better room, I found out, that the TV did not work, and the room phone was disconnected (not even able to contact the front desk!) I reported this to the reception few times, but after 3 days gave up, no respond at all... The food was not bad, but very little to choose from, not much variety. Only positive was people working there at the restaurants and bars and cleaning service. In general, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

    We did a last minute family holiday over the Christmas break and ended up at this resort. The resort was totally misrepresented in all advertising. It is a small all-inclusive and family friendly which was great BUT we really felt as if every day was the first day of work for most of the employees. Every meal was oh so disorganized...it took forever to get seated, our requests for beverages were often taken and then ignored many times. The waiting staff was also bussing tables which might explain the horrendous service. One day it actually took me 4 tries before finding a clean plate at the buffet line up! Some days they would run out of glasses at the pool bar. Many days we would sit at the buffet for breakfast at a table that was chosen by the staff only to find either the cutlery missing, no coffee cups or cracked / chipped cups or saucers. We went to the Grill (à la carte restaurant) one evening and had two very small ones with us. We were the first ones in line and seated which was great but it took an eternity for them to take our orders and then bring them. You would think with children there, they would have wanted to feed us and get us out of there a quickly as possible. Otherwise, the food was fine and thank goodness for that. We were always able to find something great to eat. Breakfast was the best meal by far. We do want to give a big shout out to Gustavo for being the best at his job. He seemed to be a beverage staff at the buffet in the evening, a morning wait staff at breakfast and then prepping the à la carte restaurants in the afternoon. He was very attentive, efficient and friendly. Most unfortunately I would say he was the ONLY staff who stood out during our 10 day stay at this resort which is a very sad thing to say. The pools were great and there were lots of places to sit in the sun or out of it. That was fantastic. Getting our room cleaned consistently was also an exercise in frustration. We had cracked or chipped coffee cups or saucers more often then not. Our towels were not always replaced. Some days our cleaning woman did not leave any coffee for the next day. The absolute worst thing that we experienced however aft this resort was a scam they pulled for New Year's Eve Celebration. We were told we could not reserve a table for the celebration without buying a bottle of liquor for the table, which we did. We bought a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for 735 Pesos only to get to our table the night of the celebration and told they did not have that specific wine. They wanted to replace it with a bottle of the resort wine which was HORRIBLE! One of the worst wines ever tasted. I refused and they came up with another bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from Chile. We accepted it seeing as we had no choice but later found the very same wine at OXO for 129 Pesos. When the concierge / front desk was informed of this,I got a lot of shrugs and apologies but never did get my money back. We will NEVER go to this resort again!

    Booked this resort January 1st to the 8th as a family vacation with our 5 grown kids. First off, shame on Apple vacations for misrepresenting this hotel. We have been coming to Mexico twice a year since the late 1990's and have been to many all-inclusive resorts, (All through Apple) and for them to advertise this as a 5 apple resort is just a lie. It wouldn't be so bad but the front desk people know it. If you book a resort view room common sense would be you are looking at your resort. However its actually looking at an alley and the side of the neighboring resort! and the manager (Esteban) was very smug about letting several of us know it. Went through 3 rooms before we got a clean one. Dirty toilet paper in our couch, black mold, roaches, and very musty smelling. On the positive side. Employees were great! Although overwhelmed due to being under staffed. Again. Shame on Apple! Long lines to eat at any of the a la carts and the lines are right where you eat so you feel guilty and want to get through as fast as you can. Not very relaxing. Food was some of the best we has had at an inclusive. Good variety, well prepared. We mainly stuck to the buffet as it was just easier. Service was excellent. We sat in Gustavo's section daily and couldn't be happier. Drinks and alcohol selection were just average. CoCo cafe was excellent great coffee but again one person working caused really long lines. Pools and beach are great. Sports bar wasn't open. Roof top bar just okay, not much seating due to the big beds, no music at all and a small bar. Entertainment was what you would expect. Pretty quiet and not much to do after. In summary this is a 3 star resort that needs room updating and more employees to handle the load. Apple also needs to fairly represent what the rooms are like and teach their managers better customer service. Not sure if we will book with Apple again.

    Food was much better than expected. Different selections every day, even at buffet. Rooms, service, pools as expected for the very reasonable price. Guests were a nice mix of Mexicans, Americans, and Canadians. Limited opportunities for relaxing in shade ... not many beach umbrellas. Bars are good, with better selection of quality liquor than other resorts, and bartenders poor generously. No watersports other than swimming, which is a deal breaker for me for future stays. A bit noisy if room faces pools. Sky bar was very nice and offered exceptional view of bay. Staff was generally friendly and helpful. City tour was so-so, with shopping at a pushy store. Overall, not a bad deal.
