My wife and I travelled to the Dominican Republic from January 29 through February 5 in celebration of her birthday. We stayed at the Caribe Club Princes and were impressed overall. First and foremost, I want to speak to the friendliness of the staff here. Almost everyone we interacted with was very polite and friednly. A couple gift shop employees seemed disinterested, but that was it. We especially want to shout-out to Paulino in El Higuero buffet restaurant. He was our server for breakfast most days we were there, and he took very good care of us. Very polite, friendly, joking. Definitely made for a great experience. Our housekeepers were very polite and friendly, fulfilling any request we had regarding more pillows or blankets. We made sure we tipped them a couple dollars daily to thank them for doing so. They also kept us well-stocked in water and soda in the mini-fridge, often putting several extras on the counter above it. The room itself was dated but clean. Our only complaint was the bed, which was much more firm than we prefer. But it was primarily a crash pad for us when we weren't on the beach, so it served its purpose, even if our sleep wasn't perfect. We were on the ground floor of the Cayena building, facing the main pool, and the location was great. It was close to a tram stop, across the way from the buffet, and just a couple minutes from the beach. We even had five peacocks settle on our patio during the one day it rained. Perfect. The room had a safe available for use while we were there, and we definitely took advantage of it. It was only $3USD a day, which is a great deal to ensure phones, cameras, money, etc., are locked up safely. We ate most of our meals at El Higuero buffet restaurant, primarily for selection and convenience. There definitely seemed to be plenty of options, and each dinner was themed (Mexican, International, Italian, etc.). With all lunch and dinner services, they always had a pasta bar setup so you could get a plate fixed however you wanted. They also had two grills setup for omelets, steaks, fish, hamburgers, etc., depending on the meal and day. There was a good selection of fruits, cheeses, desserts, etc. Overall, if you are familiar with buffets, then you get what you expect here. The only time we had what we would consider sub-par food is when we arrived right at the end of service. But that is expected as they're not going to fix a bunch of food only to throw it away. We ate at La Crêpeie once for a snack, and it was good. Having just been to Paris in September, it wasn't French crêpes, but they were good and filling. Plus, there are several cats who seem to frequent the area, and this provided a lot of smiles for the kids. The only a la carte restaurant we checked out was Rodizzio, the Brazilian restaurant, in celebration of my wife's birthday. The food was very good, and if you go away hungry it's your own fault, as they keep bringing out wave after wave of beef, pork, chicken, fish, etc. Plus, they have salad, sides, and dessert. We also got introduced to our new favorite cocktail, the Brazilian national cocktail, caipirinha. Oh man, are we addicted. We will be making them often at home. We have seen some people comment on the aggressive vendors, and while we certainly noticed them, they didn't seem to be overwhelming at all. The first night we got there, several were setup outside the buffet, and they were the most aggressive, but you can certainly walk right by them without engaging them. When on the beach, the vendors were walking around selling things, but any we told no left us alone. And if we were reading or just sunbathing, they left us alone. To me, they were similar to vendors we've run across in Paris, Rome, etc. If you engage them or make eye contact, they're more likely to want to talk to you. If you ignore them and walk by, they leave you alone. There are plenty of animals wandering around the resort, and they do feed them early in the morning. The aforementioned peacocks, flamingos, egrets, ducks, lizards, turtles, you name it. All kinds of critters. They definitely add to the appeal of the resort, adding to the tropical feel, as if all the flora doesn't already do that. The resort does have WiFi, but only in the lobby area. But honestly, if you're going to be on the beach for week, why care about the internet? It was a great chance for us to disconnect from the world. When we went to the front of the resort to do some shopping, etc., we'd pop in to fire up WiFi to make sure everything was fine back home, then we'd disconnect again. But, the whole reason we went there was for the beach. And man, was it stunning. We spent most of the seven days we were there firmly planted on the beach. We'd get out in the water for a bit, cool off and float with the waves, then get back on the beach. While signs say palapas and lounge chairs can't be reserved, there were almost always towels on the chairs under the palapas, filling almost all of them, where there were only a handful of people on the beach. So it does happen. Several days we were able to find one away from the main path, and other times we would just wait until the crowd filtered out to go to lunch, etc., and we'd snag a palapa then. But even then, if we spent the day in the sun, that didn't suck at all either. :) While we were there, the temperature was always between 70 and 85F with very few clouds. You definitely need to bring sunscreen. It only rained one day, which was fine by us. We will definitely be returning to these beaches.

Have been to this hotel 5 times and love it. I would like to say that this visit we noticed that the food wasnt as good in the main restaurant, there was many occasions where we were waiting for trays of food to be refilled and cakes had run out regularly. At breakfast many times had to wait a lengthy time for cut bread to toast. There was a working freezer but no ice cream in it. Service at tables at evening meal wasnt good on the side where drinks we given on arrival to restaurant. Many times we had to find our own cutlery and asked many times for drinks, it appeared waiters would only serve 'their side'' of restaurant. At the 'crepery' by the pool there was many occasions where they ran out of ice cream by 4pm. That said we love this hotel and most staff are exceptional.

Place, food & staff made our stay more exciting! We definitely comeback again to this resort. A total relaxation by far. My whole family have a blast. Close to nature, friendly staff. food is amazing. For the service ino complain. Hotel is clean and organized. They attended what our needs. Affordable place to stay. Massage by the pool my favorite after beach walking and sunbathing. Swim up pool is a good place to gain new friends. Morning walk beside the beach is breathtaking.

This place is a treasure?? (Although I would like to conceal it and leave this place just for me jejejej)))

I'm in love with this nice hotel of Caribbean club Princess :) Within last 1.5 years visited it 3 times (and 7 times in Punta Cana before). Question of Tripadvisor: Does this place have a cultural feel to it? - Definitely does, and this is why i love it. Hope this feel & vibes will stay there forever! It's a different from others hotel, amazing place where harmony lives, and staying there once - one will love it:) Visited it in may, june, now in january, solo and with my mother. First of all, each half a year which i visited - I notice significant improvements elsewhere, each time is better.I notice how employees change as well, more & more perfecting themselves. It's pleasant to see the hotel does its best to make a caribbean vacation just marvellous with them. Why i chose it for my first vacation: ??superb location with enchanting Bavaro Plaza nearby and BEST BEACH :) Middle size waves, largest sand part, always a spare shadow place) Why i come back: ??the hotel is really nice with its warming colorful buildings [staff- please leave these colors after renovation ??Do not become white as others..!] ?? room accomodation - each time been to different (coralillo & cayena buildings), loved all of them. I also like that everything is close, hotels of such size (enough space for all but everything is close) & design are my favourites, territory is very comfy too with all places easily accesable on foot (but there're also that small quiet cars if needed) (what i liked about them that they dont make any noise or smell and are not in any manner disturbing) ??Greatest territory with large natural park with lots of wildlife, numerous birds, turtles, iguanas (and a lovely cat jajaja) Dreaming of making friends with pink flamingo? Welcome to Caribe Club Princess ?? Even if you're not much of a bird-watcher, definitely you will be enchanted by all the species while walking in Princess ??As for me it was hilarious to encounter a pod of wild parrots ?? This place is just the best to stay with kids too, they will be happy to see all the fauna ?? Many picturesque places/spots for taking pictures ?? ????Food is great elsewhere in every bar! I'm not a fan of a la card procedures but my mom visits & enjoys all of them. In my turn i love all other snack spots (there are plenty) and main restaurant of course. I dont eat too much but i couldnt resist ?? ??24h beach bar: want a coffee at 4am or a piña at 1???Welcome closer to the ocean and enjoy moments with lovely music at the beach bar - always there to serve you. I met all the sunrises there starting from 5am, each time i appear - barmens already serving my coffee (they do remember what you like ??) ????Employees: all are nicest people sincerely, not only smiling but doing best at their jobs and really trying to help you whatever you'll need. And its heart-touching and surprising to see they do recognize you if you come again ???? I cant name all the names - but pass you my warmest greetings and thank you to all - from my camarera to maletero ?? + observation from my recent visit - I honestly was happy to see they don't offer plastic cocktail straws any more; It is clearly noticeable how much cleaner the beach has become!??Thank you for this! I'm looking forward to see what will be after renovation, and i really hope to come back again soon. [To hotel management - please please preserve the beach and your park and overall recognizable authentic look of your Caribbean Princess style;)] Sr. Ramon - thank you so much for making my checkout - i'm truely honored! Thank you for hosting me and for your hospitality, and i am happy to be your regular guest! See you soon again! Photos are solely from the hotel territory, but all the trips & adventures are available directly from there.

We visited hear in January for 2 weeks! The staff were amazing and super friendly, the hotel itself is amazing and has so much character to it, the rooms are a little tired. We were told hotel is being knocked down and re built to a more modern hotel which I think is a total shame as the new hotel looks like a small village of apartment blocks! We had the best 2 weeks staying here only thing I would say is they use way to much plastic!
