Please don't waste your vacation on this repulsive hotel! We came as a large party of 13. Not one of us felt the place was worthy of our money or our time. We arrived and were immediately bombarded with high pressure sales people who try to push their royal club on you. We were not able to get away as they plant them at your building entrance which by the way is so far from the lobby you really need the shuttle to get there however they are never around so often get stuck walking the 15 mins to dinner or entertainment. When we asked them to stop harassing us the guy says make a complaint I don't care! Our room was not cleaned until we complained and then had water pouring in through the roof not to mention a toilet that did flush and a sink that wouldn't drain, a balcony door that would lock along with many other things. Now the food was another kind of awful! We got a concierge package which is supposed to have free room service but got charged 5 doller each time regardless of the order. The buffet was disgusting and the food was barely edible. This place is BAD!

We stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days and we had a great experience! It’s a beautiful hotel!. There’s many nature walks to take and they even have Mayan ruins. The best part is that they’re next to the Xcaret park and Jack Foaks was very nice we us and made our stayed extremely pleasant.

Great experience, despite the hurricanes— will return next year

My husband and I never took our honeymoon. It was our 5th wedding anniversary and we decided to vacation instead of renewing our vows (COVID to thank). We went and were pleasantly surprised to have been met by our expectations. Our concierge Jack Foakes, literally went above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasurable. He asked us to visit the vacation club membership for a tour to preview first club and royal level club perks. Needless to say we were sold and are now first club members that will be bringing back family in the near future. The jungle life there is vibrant, but fair warning the resort is rather large and you can definitely count on getting lost your first day or two. It’s not a terrible problem to have, as the strolls are lovely and filled with wildlife— unless you’re a glass half empty type person. We went during hurricane season (quite honestly that was my mistake, I thought hurricane season was over). Regardless of the storm the stay was pleasurable. We had to stay one day in our room because our outside booking with XelHa and Xplor got cancelled (nothing to do with the hotel). As first club members they gave us some hotel bucks to spend and we ended up getting a few massages. OMG! As someone who used to own their own massage business I can’t tell you enough about the flow and quality of the work their therapists provide. I was in and out and when the bodywork was done felt like I was in heaven? It felt surreal. We did go at the height of COVID which was pretty sketch in and of itself so our only recommendation would be that the hotel enforce masks throughout the property as some guests walked around coughing, and some decided to serve themselves food from the buffet. The hotel does have measures in place to prevent self-serving buffets i just really wish they would’ve enforced it for the guests who clearly didn’t care about their safety protocols. Maybe shame the unruly guests? Again overall experience was exquisite! We will be bringing our children here come summer, and I feel that their experience will be a safe, enjoyable one. The beach is man-made and the rocks and mangroves break the crashing waves making it very safe for little ones to play by the water. Thank you Jack Foakes, and thank you Estella and Eli for making our stay wonderful, and giving us an experience we enjoyed! It’s because of these three that we have become first club members! Can’t wait to share this joy with my parents and siblings as they join us on our next trip! PS. If you have xcaret tickets they have a boat that takes you to the park (hours are not posted but ask concierge ahead of time for arrivals and departures)! -The Piñas
