Amazing

SandalsChristine1 (Mississauga, Canada) on Apr 19, 2024

Definitely 5+ stars! This was our 10th visit to this resort. We arrived on March 28th to enjoy the over the top Easter celebrations and the fantastic Reunion Week (now known as the Welcome Home Week). Every staff member acknowledged us in a friendly sincere manner every time our paths crossed. The Welcome Home week of activities and celebrations was beyond my expectations. It was absolutely superb! We are always treated & pampered to our every need at this fabulous resort. Impeccable service, food, entertainment and grounds keep us coming back. Halycon is definitely our second home due to the fabulous staff, lush grounds meticulously maintained, fabulous choice of food/venues and the overall feeling of contentment at this resort. Every staff member is truly engaged to give you the best vacation experience. We will definitely be back next year for another fun filled week. Having been to this resort so many times, and others too, I can confidently say this is the best place to feel so relaxed with every need being met. The staff at this resort are amazing.

Best Sandals Resort For Recharging Your Batteries

CurlyMichele (Brooklin, Canada) on Apr 19, 2024

This is the smallest of the Sandals properties, which makes it perfect if you are looking for a quiet vacation to rekindle your romance or just recharge your batteries. The resort is very well appointed with restaurants that will provide you with enough variety for your stay. I highly recommend the Jerk Wings for lunch. I was addicted to them! The staff is warm and goes out of their way to make your stay memorable. We experienced a "white glove" service during our stay, perhaps this is because it is a smaller resort. We will be going back!!!! In addition, St. Lucia is a beautiful island with lots of wonderful sites to see, the home of the worlds only drive thru volcano!

Lovely room but Zero privacy!

kathyanddanny (montreal) on Apr 18, 2024

First off, I have been putting off writing this review for a long while. In no way does this review reflect on anyone one staff at the Halcyon. Everyone who we came across were professional , attentive and very warm and friendly. I would like to address our concerns to management: We stayed in your Joli beachfront butler room (JBP) It was early sept 2023. We up graded our room category for our 40th wedding anniversary. What an amazing room! Simply breath taking! From design to location! For those who don’t know, these rooms have no lounge area in room but you don’t need it! Because the deck area is where you mainly lounge it’s that beautiful! So, why the 3 star review? In one word, Privacy! For the price point of these rooms it was very disappointing and extremely uncomfortable to have zero privacy. We were the very last room on the beach. This seems to be where security have their morning meet ups. Changing shifts and hanging with the locals. At one point during our stay one of the security guards arranged his chair right in the middle of our view of the beach. Every time we swam in the pool we felt all eyes on us. While the room deck area is stunning! There is absolutely no privacy! Everyday two, three times a day staff… from room service to bars and our butlers. Rather than ring the door bell they would just shout over the fence/railing asking if we need anything? Often times waking us from a nap. These beachfront walkout rooms definitely needs curtains or something. This next issue is a sticky situation for sandals , I have no doubt! We had become very aware how the locals feel about Sandals encroaching on the public beach and taking more land from the locals. We totally understand their views! We don’t know how the Halcyon has dealt with this issue but it was extremely awkward to say the least. Just knowing how the locals felt about us in those rooms! Two examples come to mind… there was a group who showed up with the intention of disrupting our day. Playing loud music, yelling and literally turning and facing us as we sat on our lounge chairs and pool. Sitting on the rock walls edge and making sure to block our view. At one point we felt too intimidated to use our beach chairs so we rarely got to sit on the beach. Security at one point seemed to be amused as one of the male locals joked and made fun of my husband. That’s when I got upset and asked our butler to intervene on our behalf. 2nd situation. There is a vender that sells his wares almost in front of our room on the beach. Lovely man! Although I forget his name. But we do not think he is there with the best of intentions . Why you ask? Every morning, we see him throw chicken feed on the grass in front of the rooms! There are exactly 2 roosters and 4 chickens who hang out around those rooms! and at 6 every morning the roosters crows! Now! How do you suppose they got there? Could it be the locals trying to deter sandals clients? Some kind of pay back for sandals taking their beach? Just a thought! …but we hope these issues have been rectified since last sept? However we are fully aware St.Lucias beaches are public and we believe the locals have every right to be on the beach! But I ask this? Does Sandals take responsibility for putting their paying customers in these awkward situations?

Excellent resort!

Sandals Halcyon is an AMAZING resort! We went there for our honeymoon and it was everything we could have asked for. The food was 5-star level and the drinks were delicious. I can’t say enough about the staff. They were all so genuinely nice and wanted to get to know you (they can’t even accept tips). The grounds were immaculate as well. Our first few days the beach had some seaweed/rocks on it but I think that was because of the direction of the winds. The water was also murky at that time. Our last few days the water was pretty clear and little/no seaweed. Once you got off the beach, the water was pristine. On the hobiecat we could see 30 feet down with no problem. They have so many fun activities on the resort; from wakeboarding/waterskiing, hobiecat, paddleboard, day/evening entertainment, etc. With all the fun activities going on, you can still easily relax. You don’t really have to fight for a lounger on the beach, but the pool fills up quickly. The beach vendors are all really cool and helpful, I’d actually recommend booking excursions through them (infinity tours SLC was one we went through and they were great), but you will want cash for these (they use East Caribbean $) and the resort does allow a 1 time cash advance for a limit of $100 US. I'd highly recommend the Friday night street party! The only knock I have on Sandals as a whole is the massage fees. They charge a ton of $$ for a massage, and added on a $23 service charge (for each person). However, we found out that is not the included gratuity, you are supposed to tip them as well. So a 60 minute couples massage cost roughly $460! The pillows are just OK, but the bed is comfy. If you run out of drinks in the room, you can leave a note to ask for more. Overall the vibe is relaxed but fun, the population staying at the resort is probably mid 40s (but definitely some younger and some older couples). We would for sure go back to this resort!

Beautiful people, beautiful resort

zepshoops (Senecaville, Ohio) on Apr 15, 2024

Our family just returned from Sandals Halcyon. Just wow. The six of us - my wife and I, my son and wife, and my in laws. We could not be more pleased with the service. Most everyone we encountered truly cared if we were enjoying ourselves and if there was anything they could do to help us. Just a few that have to be mentioned -Ryan, Vince, Daniel, Danette, and Clint - this is not inclusive but just a few that went the extra mile. Our rooms were what one expects from Sandals. Housekeeping and mini bar stocking were prompt. Our shower was amazing. The food was very good. We enjoyed the Bayside buffet and Kelly's for breakfast. We enjoyed the buffet as much as the Ala Carte. We enjoyed the Beachside Grill and Bayside buffet lunch(themed every day). For dinner, our favorites in order were : Kelly's Dockside, Mario's, Bayside, Kimonos. The first 3 were outstanding while the hibachi was very average. Some of our party spoke very highly of Soy (sushi). We ordered room service one evening and it was prompt! Entertainment was hit and miss, but the effort was great. The pools are amazing with excellent poolside service. The beach is narrow, but nice. The grounds are immaculate. This was our 14th all-inclusive resort and we've never been to one more beautiful.. While we like to try new places for vacation, we could definitely see ourselves returning here.
