Quiet but beautiful resort on the French side

Jerry S (Naperville, Illinois) on May 22, 2022

This resort is located at the end of the town of Grand Case which is a bit further from the airport than Marigot. The scenery from the rooms and hotel is just amazing with turquoise colors in the water everywhere you look. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. Maid and other staff very polite. We loved the restaurant on site with its amazing location right over the water and fantastic views of the sunsets. The meals at the restaurant were excellent with different specials every night. Go for the Moule fest - mussels on Thursday which were just super. Many of the staff speak French which my wife loved as she got to practice speaking but everyone speaks English so no worries if you don't. Rooms are nice and have been recently renovated. All the standard rooms are on the first floor so go for a one bedroom as will be on the 2nd level with better views. Lofts are on the 3rd level. We would definitely go back to this resort. There are also several good restaurants within a 10 minute walk in the town of Grand Case. Given there are kitchens you can buy food at a store and do your own thing as well. We will note that the town is a bit run down and still not rebuilt from the 2017 hurricane and you will see that over much of the island.

Gorgeous location, friendly staff

We stayed for a week (family of 4, 2 teens) and had a WONDERFUL time. The suite was very clean, very comfortable. The beach was beautiful, and the staff was helpful with beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, etc. There are shaded areas available, a really lovely walkway along the water, and the landscaping is beautiful. There's also a restaurant located within the complex that was DELICIOUS; you can keep a tab running if you're staying at the hotel. There's a little snack shop/boutique. It's walking distance from the town of Grand Case, where there are many restaurants, small grocery stores, etc. We had a great time and would 100% recommend.

Location, location, location- Beach resort with club atmosphere

The Grande Case Beach Club delivers on its reputation as a really comfortable resort with a wide range of services, friendly and helpful staff, and a perfect location. I’ve met several couples/families who’ve been coming back for 8 to 10 years. After severe damage during hurricane Maria, the whole place appears to have been upgraded. Specific things we liked: outstanding reliable WiFi coverage inside and out. Fresh flowers in our room and a complimentary bottle of wine. . White sand beach with gentle swells. Everything is in good order, well maintained, and clean. Beautifully planted with colorful flowering trees and shady spots to relax out of the sun. Room has a Fully equipped kitchen (no chef knife, but the standard knife definitely did the job). Absolutely delightful pool at the perfect temperature, not stinky chlorinated. Pool is located on the deck on top of the restaurant with great views. People in the know bring a bottle of wine up and watch the sunset. At the beach convenient spots to rinse the sand off. Excellent security. We had to keep reminding ourselves to lock the car and watch valuables because it felt so safe. Reception happily makes reservations for you at local restaurants. Easy 5 minute drive to a giant supermarket (leaving the hotel, make the first left towards the airport). There’s good French bakery near the big market and a deli we didn’t have a chance to try. It’s easy to stay without a car. The on-site Sunset Cafe full service restaurant and bar is open all day - eat in or take out. According to a flyer in the room, you can also get a bottle of wine for as little as 10 euros. Local restaurants are within walking distance, especially Spiga which we loved (no reason not to eat excellent Italian food on St Martin.). The only French you need is “Bonjour” as pretty much everyone speaks perfect English. When we were here the exchange rate was basically a dollar for a euro, although prices may round up slightly. Just bring dollars. You’ll get change in dollars, too. No tipping on credit cards - tip in cash. Most Americans seem to tip at the same rate they do in the States, although I hear that 10% is sufficient. We didn’t sign up for any water sports, but the beach hut has signs for jet skis, floats, etc. and a variety I’d boating options. Children are welcome. Even though some families with small children had rooms near us, it didn’t bother us. I don’t believe kids are allowed in the pool area.

Loved it

FINALLY - AFTER TRYING TO GET THERE IN 2018, 2020, AND 2021 - we made it to Grand Case Beach Club and it was 100% worth the wait. View is stunning - the hills, the bay, Creole Rock, and then Anguilla which looks particularly beautiful at night. The two beaches are beautiful, the water is crystal clear and great for swimming or just bobbing about in. Lots of space and chairs available. Location is incredible - just a very short walk from the hotel are more restaurants and bars than you could possibly need. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. Rooms are perfectly comfortable. We didn’t cook while we were there, just used the coffee machine, but the kitchen inventory looked pretty reasonable for a short stay. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. In particular we are enormously grateful to Maryam who spent quite a lot of time on the phone to airlines for us trying to work out the covid rules for getting us into Guadeloupe for the next leg of our holiday. There is parking on site if you hire a car, we had no trouble finding a space. The hotel compound felt pretty secure. There are mosquito grids on the windows including a clever sliding one that you could use if you wanted the balcony doors open. Despite this we got our only bites of the holiday in the room - sometimes the little buggers just float in with you, I guess. If you are sensitive to mosquito bites I’d recommend picking up a can of spray for the room from one of the local supermarkets. The Restaurant/bar is run separately so I will review it separately, but we drank at the bar every night so you can guess we liked them! Would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Fantastic Place!!

475judyb (Pasadena, United States) on May 08, 2022

Had an amazing time!! Two story property gives a boutique feel, vibe is European and chill. Immaculate, sleek, modern room decor with full kitchen plus all necessary supplies if you want to shop and cook. Very quiet overall. Superb beach is less than 20 yards from any given room and they have kayaks, paddleboards, & plenty of lounge chairs. Onsite restaurant is a tad pricey but food is excellent, and local town is a quick walk away and known for its dining options. Staff and other guests are friendly and mostly French (but all are fluent in English plus some Dutch or German as well). Note that taxis on the island are very expensive - recommend renting a car instead. Can't wait to go back.
