We stayed here for 6 days and it was lovely. The resort is small so anything is close by. The pool was very fun for my kid. She spent hours in there swimming and on the water slide. The food court has pretty good quality food, and there are healthy choices available. We didn’t spend too much time at the resort during the day since we were at the parks every day. We used the laundry room and that was convenient to have too. Parking was easy. We would consider staying here again in the future.

My family and l have visited Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter a number of times, and it’s an easy choice to make! This is one of Disney’s smaller hotels on property which means it’s quiet, relaxed and the walk to the main buildings is not a long trek. It’s safe to say with any Disney hotel you will be looked after very well, your rooms will be clean, the property will be spotless and the staff will go above and beyond to make your stay magical. French Quarter for us ticks even more boxes, it’s very close to Disney Springs either by a short bus journey or via the amazing boat taxi. As a smaller hotel when leaving the parks after closing the queue is never enormous for the buses, and the queues at the hotel for the buses to the parks are not as large as other Disney hotels. The rooms are very functional with a fridge, coffee machine, large TV, double sinks, safe, ironing board and iron and a half bath and shower plus two Queen size beds with the most comfortable mattress you will ever sleep on! The food is very ‘Disney’ offering a range of choices but the same choices everyday, l personally would like to see a couple of different things each day to mix things up. The Disney Dining Plan is an absolute must and means apart from spending money you can pretty much say you will not need to purchase food, we are four adults (two children over 18) and we struggled to use up all our meals and snacks! One good thing is Disney is now trying to offer more healthy options so salads/pasta and sandwiches are included as meals. One top tip if you stay at French Quarter you can get Beignets, which are similar to a doughnut. You can only get them at this hotel and are quite simply delicious, plus the most popular sweet snack. Would l stay at this hotel again? YES (working on the husband for the next trip) Would l recommend it? absolutely YES. Could l tell you even more amazing things about the hotel? YES, but it’s much easier if you go and find out for yourselves, you won’t be disappointed.

    Great Shrimp Po Boy

We were staying at our home away from home,Port Orleans Riverside. Unfortunately we were hitting the Riverside Mill food court at a time of day when the pasta station and section that serves specialty sandwiches and roast meats was closed! I know, crazy for Disney but they are refurbishing some of the mansions so they were offering limited food service at the Riverside. We decided to head over to Sassagoula Floatworks and we were not disappointed. I had the Shrimp Po Boy which was served on a large soft bun with lettuce, fresh tomato and plenty of fried shrimp topped with remoulade sauce served with homemade chips and it was yummy! The teenagers went for the Fresh made Alfredo and loved it, took leftovers back to the room and even asked to eat them later. My husband had the cheesesteak sub he said it was tasty and filling. The kids also liked that the soda machines offered a nice variety of flavored sodas. Some of those around us were having the beignets shaped lime Mickey and they looked good. We had just come from Huey’s in Savannah, Ga so we had just had our fill of beignets.

Stayed here for two weeks in August and this is the best moderate we have stayed in by far! As the resort is more compact it made walking around much easier, one bus stop which you will appreciate after a long day at the parks, boat to Disney springs and a lovely walk to Port Orleans Riverside! All cast members superb and so friendly and a big shout out to Sophy who kept our rooms 4213 and 4214 spotless and also left us some Disney magic as per the picture - the children were over the moon! We actually booked a night in a universal hotel to get some fast passes but were so relieved to return to Port Orleans French Quarter we didn’t stay the night - the atmosphere, cleanliness and general Disney vibe made us feel like we were home. Buses were very good, longest we waited was 30 minutes and that was always at magic kingdom and we loved the food here - something for everyone - good luck using all the meal and snack credits! We cannot wait to save up enough to come back!

A Good Stay in Tricky Circumstances

We were meant to have a 2 week stay which turned into 3 as my daughter got Chicken Pox and we weren't allowed to fly home as scheduled. The hotel staff were very helpful in helping us keep our room for the extra week and phoning to check if we needed anything. When the end of our 2 week meal credits were ending the staff in both the shop and restaurant were helpful in helping us change meal credits left to snacks and water to last us for the rest of our unplanned stay. I do feel it would have been easier on the hotel and us if they had just let us roll over unused meal credits into the extended week. The hotel itself was nice and exceptionally clean. The room was cleaned daily but the time was a bit irregular. Sometimes youd be visited at 10am but sometimes youd be out to the park and back and still room hadnt been done, but when it was it was of a high standard. My daughter and I loved watching film under the stars in the green and the pool was good fun to play in.Getting a lounger could be difficult but i would say they could do more to clean the leaves and I hate to say it, old plasters out the pool more regularly. The food is ok. Its easy family fayre with enough to satisfy families with children. Good pizza and the salads were a welcome break from the chips or bread. My daughter and I had a running joke about the repetitiveness of the same 3 songs played over and over in the restraunt which actually becomes annoying after a while. Staff at the front desk were helpful but their was often a long line. Both my family and other guests did comment that the bus service to Port orleans French quarter was poor. We were told busses every 20 minutes but often faced massive queues and waits of 45 to 50 minutes for a bus. We had the drinks option for unlimited refills from the restaurant. We were very close to it so could use it all the time but at $20 a cup although we got our moneys worth I'd only get it if you were similar to us. Some rooms are a long way from the cafe to warrant a cup of juice. All in all despite our difficult circumstances this was a nice hotel and if returning to Disney I would stay here again.
