Will be back

Loved the beach and the beach bar. Loved the food and most of the staff. Reception staff not so great but the bartenders were awesome. The restaurants were all great. Room: a/c leaked down the wall. It was pretty bad so we ended up putting towels down to absorb water.

Just an average resort 3.5/5.

I stayed here at the beginning of May 2024 for the first time and on the island. I’ve stayed at many resorts in the Caribbean, and this one is just average imo. *The property itself is beautiful. The beach is small but lovely and the pools are fantastic. *The pool bar was a definite highlight but it seemed as they needed more bartenders to help with the influx of people ordering drinks. But shout out to Erickson…he learned my drink order the first day and I never waited more than a couple minutes for a refill. *There was music playing all day, which was nice, but it was the same playlist every time. *Water and ice is available everywhere but Bottles are only available at the lobby coffee/bar, Pera, which is also open 24hrs *I only dined at the specialty seafood restaurant (which needed reservations for timed seating as all the food was make in bulk). It was decent but nothing outstanding. *The main buffet is the only option for breakfast and lunch (there is a small buffet of snack type foods by the main pool - think hot dogs/hamburgers, etc). The buffet has a ton of choices (American and European) for all its meals, but was mediocre at best. *All restaurants have open air seating which is my favorite part of vacationing on islands. *There were ‘shows’ every night, which was generally singers or a dj. *The front desk staff encourages guests to download an app, which is nice to see times things were open and such, but it was incredibly slow and didn’t always load (even with the resort wifi). My biggest complaints were… *Aside from my bartender bff, none of the staff seemed to go out of their way to be friendly to guests. Again, I’ve stayed at resorts ranging from average to luxury and staff always greeted passing guests, asked if anything was needed, etc. And this was not commonplace during my stay. *Housekeeping was a disaster. They’d come one day but not the next. Some days I was given fresh towels when I requested it, other days they laid on a pile on the floor. The bed was made every other day. And anything that was left on the bed was tossed on the floor (additional blankets, a shirt, etc) Any obviously used cups/plates were not removed and I had to place them outside. I’m fairly confident the floors were never cleaned/swept during my 8 day stay. Being a beachfront resort, sand is bound to be tracked in by sandals or towels. By the last day, the floor was gritty and slightly unpleasant. Yes, these are all things I could have done myself. But one would think that by being on vacation at a resort that certainly isn’t inexpensive, these are the bare minimums that I expect. All in all, the island is gorgeous and a must visit, but the resort itself is average and I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. 3.5/5.
