Excellent hotel with fantastic staff throughout and a great atmosphere. Gardens and grounds have a luscious tropical feel. Large comfy beds in spacious rooms. Great variety of food. Bars well stocked with premium drinks. William at the beach bar and Mary in reception made our holiday and we will definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing time at Iberostar Costa Dorada Puerta Plata from May 4-11. We were a group of 9 adults and stayed in 5 rooms/3 different buildings (4, 5 and 8). We all felt our rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The buffet was delicious, with a huge variety of options, especially enjoyed the 3 a la carts (I highly recommend the Mexican chicken taco). The overall layout of the resort is great and the pool nice, clean and big. There were tons of lounge chairs at the pool and beach area. Easy access to drinks as there was always a bar close by. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The only negative thing I would say is the resort isn’t on the best part of the beach. We did swim in the ocean but there are a lot of coral/rocks in parts. Other than that, we all loved our stay here and will certainly be staying her again!!!

From the reviews I was shocked to find such a dated hotel that in not good shape. Fountains were green, pool cloudy and broken up in spots. The all inclusive is cheap liquor and one beer “Presidente”. Rooms ok at best. Food OK also. Good beach location, but you will be pestered by vendors. I would not recommend the hotel to a friend! Much better Carribean resorts.

Day 1 had my friends stalked back to their room and harassed by another guest. I was denied entry to the restaurant directly adjacent to the pool because my shirt didn’t have sleeves and was only told after waiting in line for them to open for 20 minutes. Air conditioning doesn’t work in busting 4 and based on past reviews this is a common occurrence in multiple buildings. The only things that are included in this “all inclusive” resort are SOME foods and the drinks which are extremely watered down and have added bitters to make it feel like they have the correct amount of alcohol, took a shot with my friends of tequila from the exact same bottle and every one of our glasses had a different color liquid. Essentially while this is my first resort I’ve been too I’m an extremely disappointed in the overall experience of my first day I would not recommend thins location to my worst enemy. Should not be listed at 5 stars.

Beautiful Resort, Great food, Wonderful staff, Mountains on one side, Ocean on the other... Beautiful. On our last full day there, my daughter cut her foot on a rock in the ocean, freak accident. The resort staff were amazing. Made the whole ordeal as smooth and painless as possible. HIGHLY Recommended!!!
