This is our first time on the Carribean side of DR and we will definitely be back again. No issues getting a chair pool side. Great staff.

Overall it was an amazing experience due to family, friends and my daughter getting married to her dream man! The resort itself is beautiful, beach is the best part and there was plenty of restaurants to choose from, no one goes home hungry. Rossey our wedding coordinator was amazing and very helpful, we appreciated everything she did to accommodate us and our wedding guests. Now, onto the negatives. Staff at the resort for the most part is nice, but many were rude and not many understood English, granted we are in their country, but catering to tourists who for the most part speak English, staff should have basic knowledge of the English language. Our wedding consisted of 50 people total, with 5 children under the age of 5. Golf carts were a must for the older folks who had a hard time walking the entire premises from their preferred club location to the beach area, which is a 6-8 minute trek. However, many times the gold carts did NOT pick up when they were supposed to. Given the resort was pretty full, I feel that accommodating a wedding party should be a priority. Food..... I've been to DR many many times over the last 25 years and knew what we were getting when we booked this destination. No one was hungry, there is a variety, but in general the quality of food is very mediocre, catering to thousands of people is not an easy task and the food will always be just simply put OK, nothing special. Beach! It IS the best part of this resort and La Romana is known for it's beautiful, serene waters. We loved it! Lots of the guys went paddle boarding, family went on a great boat trip and overall really enjoyed themselves. The wedding day! Mother Nature had plans of her own, downpours all day until the ceremony on the pier at 5:00 when it all cleared up and it was stunning! The reception was beautiful as well, Rossey helped us by booking a company to come out a set up a huge, I mean HUGE tent, which kept all the wedding décor, food and bar area nice and dry, once the sun set, it was magical. Room...ours was standard, but enough room for three of us to manage to put all our stuff away. Only negative was the shower handle was broken causing all the water to splash onto the floor. Air conditioning worked fantastically. Room service for us was never an issue, whenever I called the front desk, it was delivered within minutes, however, some of our guests did not get the same treatment. Overall, we had an incredible time with our kids getting married, families being together and enjoying each other's company and celebrating such an amazing life event! Would I recommend this venue for weddings, yes, just beware that the food, no matter the upgrade will never exceed any expectations, it is just plain ok.
