Worse trip ever

Denise G on May 18, 2024

From the time I stepped into the lobby of the Royal Atlantis I thought it was magnificent. However, front desk staff was unpleasant and did not follow the notes that were clearly stated on my file; charging my card when they were not suppose to and telling me that I didn’t pay for my room when I already paid it through West Jet Vacations. I was not impressed at all. This caused my family alot of unnecessary stress. For the amount of money I paid for this trip the hotel room didn’t even give you a bottle of water. The amount of money for a bottle of water and or food was insane. We ended up buying food at the food trucks and it restaurants close by. Both family members got terribly sick as well from the food. There were no entertainment or any excitement at this hotel. I will definitely not be back. We tried to make the best of it but never again.

Large family celebration

MamaBearNiecey (Wilmington, North Carolina) on May 17, 2024

Overall is was a really lovely vacation. However, we traveled with an elderly grandma in a wheelchair and were told erroneous info about the room set ups. Couldn’t get a shower for grandma so poor woman had nothing but sponge baths the whole trip. And the back elevator of the Royal was broken the whole trip so it made it tricky to get downstairs but we managed. Rooms are unremarkable. Just your typical room and actually on the smaller side, but the location of the Royal towers is the best in terms of that water parks. The resort overall is stunning and well done them wise. All of the marine life is incredible. The dolphin experience is not worth it. You get very very little time with the dolphins and it’s no greater than the rise and shine. We paid $2,400 total to have a few mins with the dolphins. It’s best to be so close but not for that short time and the steep price tag. Food was good! We enjoyed Poseidon’s Table but really loved a couple pool side places. We wish those stayed open past 5 since the pools are open until 7. Don’t make sense that you couldn’t get a drink after 5 poolside. And we also wish the pools stayed open later. The pools, beach and water park were the biggest draws for our family. Getting to the marina was way too difficult with the wheel chair and we cancelled reservations for several restaurants bc of that. Murray’s was also closed several days for some reason so we had no other option except pizza on several nights.
