Promo and coupon codes

  • What is a promo code?
    • A promo code entitles the holder to a discount on the base fare (taxes, fees and charges are extra where applicable) of a WestJet-operated flight when combined with a coupon code (the flight must meet the terms and conditions of the promotion).

  • What is a coupon code?
    • A coupon code is used in conjunction with a promo code. It applies the amount of the discount to the base fare of a WestJet operated flight. Coupon codes are required for each guest on a reservation, and the type of code may vary. WestJet has two kinds of coupon codes: single use and unlimited multi-use.

  • What is a single-use coupon code?
    • This coupon code can only be used for one guest on one reservation (one-way or round-trip). Please be sure to confirm your itinerary and all flight details as any change or cancellation to your reservation will result in the loss of the value of the coupon code.

  • What is a limited multi-use coupon code?
    • This coupon code can be used for a limited number of guests on a limited number of WestJet operated flights within the bounds of certain travel and sales restrictions.

  • What is an unlimited multi-use coupon code?
    • This coupon code can be used for an unlimited number of guests on an unlimited number of WestJet operated flights within the bounds of certain travel and sales restrictions.

  • Where and when can I use a promo/coupon code?
    • Promo and coupon codes can only be used:

      - at the time of booking for a new WestJet-operated flight on westjet.com. They cannot be applied to previous reservations, a WestJet Vacations package, group booking, or a booking with one of our airline partners
      - according to the offer outlined for the promo/coupon code.
      - on bookings for more than one guest, a coupon code is required for each guest in order for them to receive the discount.
      - for a single guest if you have one coupon code and it's a single use code. Additional guests need to be booked separately.
      - on the base fare.

  • Can I use a promo code with my WestJet dollars®?

    • Promo codes can be combined with WestJet dollars from a single account only. Guests must first be logged in to their WestJet Rewards account at westjet.com/redeem-rewards before applying their codes. WestJet Rewards members may use the promo code on a booking for themselves, another guest or both depending on the type and number of coupon codes (ie. single-use, limited-mutiple-use or unlimited multiple-use).
  • How will I know if my discount has been applied? Can I see it somewhere?
    • Once the codes have been entered and the itinerary selected, the fare breakdown will display the discount in fare and any reduction in the goods and services tax (GST). If the itinerary includes dates excluded from the promotion, the discount amount for the portion that is eligible will display as guests may want to combine promotional and non-promotional fares.

  • Are there any flights that are excluded from promotions?
    • Yes. Depending on the type of promo/coupon code, flights to/from Curacao, flights with one of our airline partners (code-share or interline flights), and multi-trip and/or multi-city bookings (for example, Calgary to Vancouver, and then another flight from Victoria to Calgary) may be ineligible for promo/coupon code usage. Other flight restrictions may apply depending on the promotional offer.

WestJet Rewards promo/coupon codes are valid for all destinations including multi-city bookings (if you have enough coupon uses remaining).

  • What does this error message mean?
    • 1. "Coupon usage exceeds number of usages left."
This error message is displayed when a coupon code is being used for more than the number of permitted guests. For example, if you are attempting to apply a single-use coupon code on a reservation for more than one guest.

      2. "Web coupon number entered is invalid."
The coupon entered does not exist or was entered incorrectly. Confirm the code is a WestJet promo code and has been entered correctly. For example, you may have entered a "0" (zero) instead of the letter "O", "1" (one) instead of the letter "I" and vice versa. If you are still having issues, please contact us.

      3. "Sorry, you've entered an invalid coupon code." or "Sorry, you've entered an invalid promo code".
The coupon entered does not exist or was entered incorrectly. Confirm the code is a WestJet promo code and has been entered correctly. A common mistake is entering a "0" (zero) instead of the letter "O", entering a "1" (one) instead of the letter "I", or vice versa.

      4. "Invalid promo and coupon code combination."
The coupon code and promo code entered are not applicable with each other. Verify with the promotional offer to ensure the proper codes are being used.
