  1. What is a promo code?

  2. A promo code is a code that entitles the holder to a discount on the base fare of a WestJet operated flight when combined with a coupon code (provided the flight meets the terms and conditions of the promotion, e.g., flight routing and dates).

  3. What is a coupon code?

  4. A coupon code is a code used in conjunction with a promo code that applies the amount of the discount to the base fare of a WestJet operated flight. Coupon codes are required for each guest on a reservation, and the type of code may vary. WestJet has two kinds of coupon codes: single use and unlimited multi-use.

  5. What is a single-use coupon code?

  6. This is a coupon code that can only be used for one guest for one reservation (one way or round trip). Please be sure to confirm your itinerary and all flight details as any change or cancellation to your reservation will result in the loss of the value of the coupon code.

  7. What is an unlimited multi-use coupon code?

  8. This is a coupon code that can be used for an unlimited number of guests on an unlimited number of WestJet operated flights within the bounds of certain travel and sales restrictions.

  9. I only have a promo code or a coupon code. Do I need both?

  10. Yes. The discount cannot be applied using a single code — each code works with the other to provide your discount.

  11. Where and when can I use a promo/coupon code?

  12. Promo and coupon codes can only be used when booking a new WestJet operated flight on westjet.com, and can only be used according to the offer outlined for the promo/coupon code. The discount cannot be applied to reservations made through our Sales Super Centre or to bookings previously made on westjet.com.

Promo/coupon codes are valid on new bookings made on westjet.com only and must be entered at the time of booking. Promo codes/coupon codes have no cash value, are 100% non-refundable and may not be applied to any WestJet Vacations package, group booking or booking where you will be travelling with one of our airline partners. If you are booking for more than one guest, you must enter a coupon code for each of them. If you only have one coupon code, you'll need to book the person using it separately from the other guests. The discount is applicable to the base fare only (taxes, fees and surcharges are extra where applicable).

  13. Can I use a promo code with my WestJet dollars®?

  14. Promo codes can be combined with WestJet dollars. WestJet dollars can only be used from a single account and cannot be combined with other accounts. WestJet Rewards members may use the promo code on a booking for themselves, another guest or both depending on the type and number of coupon codes (ie. single use or unlimited multiple use). The guest must first be logged into their WestJet Rewards account at westjet.com/redeem-rewards before applying their codes.

  15. How will I know if my discount has been applied? Can I see it somewhere?

  16. Once the codes have been entered and the applicable flights and travel dates have been selected, the fare breakdown will display the discounted amount. The discounted amount will also include the value of the discount received on the goods and services tax (GST). This information will be displayed on the 'Review flights' screen in the upper right corner of the flight summary. If travel dates that are excluded from the promotion are selected, the non-discounted fares will still appear as guests may want to combine promotional and non-promotional fares.

  17. Can I search for a flight with my promo code?

  18. Yes, you can search flights using your promo code to see the amount of the discount that will be available for any specific reservation. Your promo code will not be used until you apply the payment for a reservation.

  19. How do I know if a promo code has been used?

  20. If you attempt to use a promo code that has already been used, you will be given a message of either "Coupon has already been used" or "Coupon usage exceeds number of usages left."

  21. If my promo code is for a set dollar value (e.g., $100), can I use a portion on one reservation and the remainder on another?

Promo codes must be used on a single reservation and any unused amount cannot be carried over, transferred or otherwise used for another reservation.

  22. When does a promo code expire?

  23. All promo codes are distributed with a "book by" date, and expire at 9:59 p.m. Mountain Time on that date.

  24. What happens if I lose my promo or coupon code?

  25. Promo and coupon codes are very similar to paper coupons, in that, if they are lost, they are not retrievable.

  26. Are there any flights that are excluded from promotions?

  27. WestJet coupon and promo codes are applicable to WestJet operated flights. Partner-operated, code-share or interline flights do not qualify for promotional discounts. Coupon and promo codes may not be applied to multi-trip and/or open-jaw bookings. Open-jaw bookings include multi-segment flights where the origin and return destinations are not paired, or where portions of travel are independently completed by the traveller (For example, Calgary to Vancouver, and then another flight from Victoria to Calgary).

All flights to/from Curacao are ineligible for promo/coupon code usage.

Other flight restrictions may apply depending on promotional offer.

  28. What blackout days exist that prevent me from using a coupon code?

    2. "Web coupon number entered is invalid."

The coupon entered does not exist or was entered incorrectly. Confirm the code is a WestJet promo code and has been entered correctly. The coupon has already been used in a previous booking.

    5. "Sorry, you've entered an invalid coupon code."

    6. "Sorry, you've entered an invalid promo code."
