Changes to your itinerary
Unfortunately, we've had to cancel one or more of your WestJet flights. You can expect to receive an email detailing the reason why and an update with critical information about your WestJet flight. As a next step, you may be able to choose a different flight or use our online self-serve tool to request a refund.
Self serve options
Due to longer-than-usual wait times for phone or live chat support, we recommend using our self-serve tools to update your reservation. Here's how:
Note: If you've already checked in, you'll need to cancel your check-in before making changes or canceling your flight. To do this, start the check-in process, enter your reservation code and last name, and select "Cancel your flight check-in" at the bottom of the screen. After canceling your check-in, you can return to "Manage Trips" to cancel your flight.
- Click the "Manage Trip" link below under "Choose a different flight" or "Cancel your reservation."
- Sign in using your email or WestJet ID and password, or find your trip by entering your reservation code and last name. You can find your reservation code in the email with the subject "Essential or Crucial details for your upcoming flight."
- Follow the prompts to change or cancel your flight.
- If an error occurs, please ensure you are not already checked in (see note above if you are) and follow the error message instructions

If you would prefer to choose a different WestJet flight, you may be eligible to make changes online using our improved self-serve tool.

You may be eligible to cancel this reservation and request a refund using our online self-serve tool.

If you have attempted to use our online self-serve tool and your reservation is not eligible, you can chat with a live agent or call us. If your booking was made through a travel agent, online booking agency or corporate travel arranger, please contact them directly. If you are unable to reach your travel agent, online booking agency or corporate travel arranger, please contact us and we can assist.
Before you start your chat or call, please have the following ready:
- Use our online Book a flight tool to find a new flight that works better for you.
- Your 6-character reservation code. You can find this in the email you received.
- Guest name(s) on the reservation.
- Email address associated with the reservation.
- The new flight information (preferred flight numbers and travel dates).
Chat with a live agent
- Our live chat agents are available to help make changes to your itinerary seven days a week.
- You will need to call us directly if you are requesting additional changes such as: upgrading to a different cabin, special seating, need an extra seat, medical accommodation or have a service animal.
Hours of operation:
- English: 6 a.m. MT – 8 p.m. MT
- Japanese and Korean: 6 a.m. MT – 10 p.m. MT
Before you start the chat:
- If you choose to close the chat panel or your browser, you will have to start over to establish your place at the back of the queue.

How to change or cancel your flight
To change or cancel an upcoming flight, visit https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/manage and enter your reservation code and last name. You’ll find your reservation code in the most recent email from WestJet or your booking confirmation.
Change your flight
- To change your trip, select ‘change trip’ on the left menu.
- Select your departure date and/or time and the new date(s) of preference. Select ‘change flight’.
- Choose from the available flight options.
- Review your alternate booking and select ‘continue’.
- Select your seats, carry-on bags and extras, then review your total. Select continue.
- Confirm your transaction details. Once you confirm, your reservation will be updated.
- Your new itinerary will be sent to your email.
Cancel your flight
- To cancel your trip select 'cancel trip' on the left menu.
- Sign in or sign up for a WestJet Rewards account. Remember to select ‘submit form’ after entering your details.
- Scroll down and select ‘cancel my trip’.
- You will be emailed a copy of the cancel confirmation.
If you encounter an error, please follow the instructions listed or contact us.

Find your vacation through Manage vacations
- View the booking
- Select Cancel
- If you cancel your booking, the air portion will be refunded to original form of payment. Please refer to your travel insurance for additional coverage.
