Gift card help
Buying
- Plastic and eGift cards can be purchased online.
- MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners Club and Discover payment cards are accepted for purchase of WestJet gift cards. These must be Canadian credit cards with an associated Canadian billing address.
- WestJet gift cards can only be purchased when using a valid Canadian billing address.
- Gift cards can be purchased in any denomination between $25 CAD and $5,000 CAD up to a maximum cart order of $10,000 CAD.
- Gift cards can only be purchased in Canadian dollars, however, can be redeemed on bookings in currencies other than Canadian dollars; foreign exchange rates will apply.
- WestJet gift cards are not refundable.
- Plastic and eGift cards purchased on westjet.com do not have an expiry date.
Delivery
- Plastic gift cards are shipped via Canada Post to addresses in Canada (excluding P.O. boxes) within 7-12 business days free of charge for standard delivery, and 5-7 business days for expedited delivery for an additional fee.
- eGift cards can be scheduled for immediate delivery or for a date in the future.
- Gift cards are activated following completion of payment processing and fraud screening procedures, 48 hours after gift card purchase or shipping.
- Upon purchase of a gift card you will be emailed an order confirmation. For plastic gift cards you will be notified by email when your gift card is shipped. For eGift cards you will be notified by email when your eGift card has been viewed.
- Plastic gift cards can only be shipped to addresses within Canada, excluding P.O. boxes. An eGift card can be delivered to any valid email address.
Redeeming
- For Plastic gift cards the gift card number and PIN are located on the back of your gift card. For eGift cards the gift card number and access code can be viewed through a link within your eGift card email.
- Gift cards are activated following completion of payment processing and fraud screening procedures, 48 hours after gift card purchase or shipping.
- Once your gift card is activated you can enter your gift card number and access code (or PIN) to check your balance.
- You can redeem your gift card on eligible purchases on westjet.com, westjetvacations.com, through our contact centres or with your travel agent.
- Gift cards cannot be redeemed at the airport or on board at this time.
- Gift cards can only be combined with payment cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners Club, Discover).
- Gift cards can be redeemed on westjet.com in any available currency. If redeemed in a currency other than Canadian dollars, foreign exchange rates will apply.
- WestJet gift cards are fully transferable.

Please be advised: when making new bookings by phone, some fare bundles will be subject to a service fee.
Restrictions
Gift cards can only be redeemed for new bookings on WestJet or WestJet Encore operated flights and advance seat selection fees (at the time of booking), including applicable taxes, fees and surcharges.
Gift cards cannot be used as payment for:
- Baggage fees, change and cancellation fees, same-day changes, seat upgrade fees, kennel fees, and unaccompanied minor fees
- WestJet Rewards redemption bookings
- Purchase of WestJet points
- Group bookings (vacations or air only)
- Pre-purchase menu items and Buy on Board menu items
- WestJet Connect
- Cargo services
- Travel insurance
- Car bookings and hotel reservations booked on westjet.com
- Purchases made through the WestJet Rewards eStore and affiliate brands
- Partner airline operated flights

For Plastic gift cards utilizing expedited delivery you can check shipping status. If it is past the expected delivery timeframe (7-12 business days for standard delivery and 5-7 business days for expedited delivery), please contact us.
For Plastic and eGift cards, you can also check your order details to ensure the delivery information is correct.
You can edit the delivery email address prior to the eGift card being viewed or edit the physical address prior the order being processed.
For Plastic gift cards, after you have confirmed the order details and it is past the expected delivery time, contact us.
For eGift cards, have the recipient check their junk or spam folder. After you have confirmed the order details and it is past the expected delivery time, contact us.
Gift cards are treated like cash; WestJet is not responsible for any stored value balance on gift cards which are lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed.
Applicable fare rules apply for bookings paid for with a gift card.
WestJet gift cards are not refundable or redeemable for cash except where required by law. The remaining value of a gift card does not expire and can be used for future travel on WestJet.
WestJet points cannot be earned on the purchase of WestJet gift cards. WestJet Rewards members will earn WestJet points on flights booked with a WestJet gift card if the fare purchased is eligible for accrual of WestJet points.
WestJet gift cards cannot be reloaded.
Check to see that the flight you are redeeming your gift card on is operated by WestJet or WestJet Encore. WestJet gift cards cannot be used on airline partner operated flights. Also note that if you are using Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 you will not see gift cards as a payment option on westjet.com as this browser is not supported.
