WestJet is proud to be the official airline partner of LiveDifferent

Since 2008, WestJet has supported LiveDifferent with the gift of flight, and formalized our partnership in 2012. Since then, WestJet has provided the gift of flight to assist with domestic and international program delivery, business travel and fundraising activities across the organization. WestJet is also proud to offer LiveDifferent Build and Academy volunteers discounts on their air travel when booking flights for their LiveDifferent trips.

WestJet partnered with Canadian charity Live Different for our first international community investment project. For 10 days, 50 WestJet employees from across Canada immersed themselves in a Dominican Republic community and built new homes for five families living in extreme poverty.

In 2014, we partnered with LiveDifferent to bring a snowy Canadian Christmas to a community in the Dominican Republic via the WestJet Christmas Miracle.

WestJet LiveDifferent Builds

In partnership with LiveDifferent, WestJet launched its international community investment initiative WestJet Live Different Builds (formerly WestJet Hero Holiday) in 2012. The WestJet LiveDifferent Builds program is a 10-day humanitarian trip to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic where 50 WestJetters immerse themselves in the local community to work alongside local translators, contractors, community, and family members to build new homes with/for families living in extreme poverty.

Through this initiative we have been able to bring our caring culture to some of the most impoverished communities in the Puerto Plata area. Since the inaugural trip, over 500 WestJetters have built 53 homes new homes and over fundraised to make significant enhancements to the communities they work in.

LiveDifferent Academy

The Academy is an immersive, gap-semester program that gives youth a chance to discover themselves while serving others. Throughout this immersive experience, students find themselves learning, exploring, making deep connections, and volunteering in other cultures.

LiveDifferent Circles

LiveDifferent Circles helps young people explore important values, build stronger relationships, and learn how to get involved and activate kindness. Through collaborative learning, dynamic video content, and the completion of guided, compassion-focused projects, youth adopt key lifestyle values and impact their communities in meaningful ways.
