The Gamboa Rainforest Reserve design is inspired by the former Hotel Tivoli, whose construction began in 1905 and opened to the public in 1907. It was located at the foot of ancon hill and had many famous guests during its existence, like President Theodore Roosevelt in December of 1906 right before its opening.

Beautiful location. Great to get an uber from airport to there. The hotel is amazing. Wildlife everywhere. Capuchin monkeys and toucans outside our room. Nighttime tour is a must.

Very large spacious room and it came with a dehumidifier—something every hotel in Panama should have. There were not many plugs and the ones on the radio didn’t work well, In fact, the clock radio stopped working. Great views and nice make up mirror. Big bath but the towels are hard to get to from the shower.
