If you’re looking for just a room close to the beach in a great location

Seth G on Jul 20, 2024

Rooms are nice. The common areas need a major upgrade. The video of resort is not the same in person besides the rooms. Those are nice. First thing I noticed when we walked in was the welcome mat. It looked like it was 20 years old and dirty. Not a good first impression. They did change it one day with another dirty one. Staff was nice. Some updated landscaping would also help change the appearance in the common areas and on the outside of the hotel. Pool area is similar to an older hotel pool area. Hot tub is ancient . Ping pong and pool tables are old. Hammock had a hole in it. Beach access is close and easy but it is the public access point as well. So sometimes pretty busy but not bad at all and of course the beach was great. They did have paddle boards and kayaks free to use. And the chairs and umbrellas were good to have. Overall I would recommend someone to stay there if they just needed a nice clean room to stay, close to the beach, for a very good price in a very popular area. Conveniently located.

Horribly disappointing

Kelsey R on Jul 17, 2024

I first want to say that I was very disappointed in my stay…we got to the hotel and the room had such a moldy odor. It was so bad that we went to the grocery store and got air freshener spray. The air was not cold. Our room would never go below 74-75 degrees. Our room had iced cold water?! I spoke to the front desk and they were helpful and said they will have maintenance fix it but then the hot water only last for a few days after they fixed it.. I was so upset. The first two nights of staying here the fire alarm went off on the second floor at 4 a.m. ridiculous? 2 nights in a row at the same time both nights?! I wanted to leave this “resort” so bad but nothing else was available since it was 4th of July week. The breakfast area was not well cleaned so we didn’t even try the free breakfast. As far as the beach goes there was so much trash right by the beach chairs that are provided for the port of call guests. It was absolutely so gross the smell was horrible when you were sitting on the beach since it was right behind us. The chairs are pretty much first come first serve and if you get there after 10 am you are screwed from having a chance to sit close to the water to hear the waves. I was so upset the whole trip just because my boyfriend and I wanted to relax but we actually COULD NOT due the room issues and the beach chairs/area being so gross and loud. One other thing that was so ridiculous was that POC provides you with these chairs and umbrellas but our umbrella was broke bc of the wind that day and we asked them to give us another one and he said I can’t? It was the weirdest/rude thing. I actually felt so uncomfortable staying at this resort because I felt like I could have enjoyed a lake trip back in GA more than I did on this trip. Fr don’t stay here! Take it from me!

Friendly Environment

Shakira Y on Jul 14, 2024

My recent stay at Ports of Call was absolutely delightful! From the moment we arrived the staff greeted us warmly and ensured our check-in process was seamless. The highlight of our stay was defiantly the attentive service-every staff member encounter was friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. We would like to thank Emanual and Sandy for their top-notch hospitality! -Shakira

Sandy was so Pleasant

LIVE L on Jul 09, 2024

My flight was delayed and we had to go to this resort. I tell you, everyone is not friendly in Turks, but Sandy was friendly, she was the receptionist when I checked in Along with a man, he was very nice, but I didn’t get his name. They both were accommodating and friendly. They gave me directions to restaurants and Sandy gave me a tour of the resort. I would visit again.

Was ok for an overnight stay

dselvan (Warrington, United Kingdom) on Jul 07, 2024

Stayed here one night before our travel to the outer islands. It was ok and pretty basic for the price but served our needs. The rooms look nice but on detailed look, not perfect like the bedside lights fittings were broken and held with paper so that it doesn't pop out etc. Few shops around for dinner which were walkable which was a bonus. There is a pool but we didn't use it and since we were leaving early, had a very quick breakfast and it was actually not a bad spread bit more continental and less cooked stuff but it was ok for us. Didn't use the beach since we were overnight only but I believe they do have a buggy that can take you to the beach, although it is walkable. Watch out for lots of mosquitos and use spray liberally!!!
