Gorgeous

First time at the resort. Amazing! Whether you are a beach or pool person, this is the place. Thank you Enrique our personal butler for taking care of us! All the staff were amazing. Get the wings at the Hamitzu Asian restaurant. We will be back.

I expected better

I was expecting to be wowed by this resort as I’ve heard many people say how amazing it is, but I likely wont return. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. We didn’t ask much of our butler Philippe but he was kind and could tell he was willing to help. The food was average at best so that was disappointing. Room service dinner was horrible and they forgot a few items. The preferred beach side is very nice and spacious. Loved the painting class. That was a nice addition. On the app it stated at Oceana on Wednesday and Fridays they offered Indian food for dinner. I was excited to try it, showed up on a Wednesday night and as told the don’t have it. Our butter looked into it for us, and we were told they don’t offer it on a regular basis. Then why is it advertised twice weekly on the app?! Another thing, no one could tell me when they offered the special seafood buffet during lunch( Where they have scallops and lobster). I know it exists as I’ve seen it posted a few times on a facebook group I was in. I was ready to come home when the vacation was over.

Anniversary Trip

This resort is located on the southern side of the island & is quite beautiful. The wind that you typically experience in Punta Cana is not a factor here. It is located in a private gated community so you do not get the local beach traffic that you do in the rest of the resorts on the east side of the island. Like the rest of the island the beach & water are gorgeous. As to the resort itself: PROS: The resort is well maintained. Landscaping is beautiful. Layout makes it easy to get around. Staff is very friendly. Special notes: Miguel R (Our Butler). He made our week very special & is a joy to work with. We will be sure to request him the next time we return to the resort. Angelo & the Preferred beach bar staff. They were awesome but Angelo is the best. The Crepe chef. Unfortunately we did not get his name but he cooked breakfast at Oceana as well. He was fantastic. UVC office: they went out of their way to try & make our stay special. CONS (not many): The ocean on the Preferred beach has a lot of reefs so it is not very swimmable. The Ocean Front King Suite we had has a water issue & smelled damp. Has something to due with the AC venting. Be aware that this resort courts a lot of corporate business. During our stay 2 large groups were there. The second one was a group of 150 people. Overall, this is an excellent resort with an exceptional staff and we would recommend people going. Cap Cana Resort and Spa, one of the best!

I would like to compliment the wonderful Secrets resort, Cap Cana, located in the Dominican Republic. Not only was the resort luxurious, well laid out, the food, the employees and all of the daily and nightly activities were 5 star, top notch. I wish to compliment your excellent concierge that we had taking such great care of us during our vacation and his last name was Barreto. Let me tell you how happy we were to have him as our concierge. When we first met him, he brought us to our beautiful room and explained all of the features that were available in the room. He asked us about our favorite beverages we would like in our mini-frig and was able to accommodate, removing a few refreshments and added what we had asked for. Each morning, he sent us an email asking how our night was and a pdf file of the daily activities. Each morning he personally met us in the Market Cafe and spoke with is about our previous day and night. During the day he checked in with us again, generally around the main pool to see if we were happy and needed anything. GREAT Customer Service Barreto!! My wife has a shoulder problem ( she is having surgery at the end of the month) and she mentioned it to Barreto. He was so genuinely concerned he was able to have the pharmacy order her some pain medicine that she had been taking back in the US. My wife sent Barreto a photo copy of her prescription and Barreto followed up with the pharmacy and within a few hours, my wife paid for and had the medicine. This was so wonderful and Barreto should be rewarded for caring, expediting the prescription to the pharmacy and personally getting the medicine to my wife. WHAT A WONDERFUL MAN HE IS AND A CREDIT TO THE SECRETS CAP CANA RESORT! Thank you sooo very much for our wonderful and relaxing vacation, Barreto!

Truly Paradise in May 2024

My husband and I arrived around 1pm on Thursday, May 9th for 7 nights. Transfer from the airport via Transekur was a breeze. Sandy was our friendly and efficient driver. Upon arrival at Secrets Cap Cana, we were greeted with "welcome home" by the lobby staff. The lobby is open air with absolutely stunning views. Check-in was quick and easy even though we had three different reservations that needed to be combined into one. Total time from touch down at the airport to arrival in our room was just under hour and a half. During check-in we requested Jeison to be our butler. We had him on a previous trip in October 2023 and he was absolutely fantastic. Once in the room, luggage arrived quickly, we changed and headed for lunch at Seaside Grill. Lunch was delicious and the setting spectacular. During our 8 days, we didn't have any complaints. Meals were delicious, staff was helpful, friendly and exceeded all of our expectations. Pools were warm and inviting and the ocean was pleasant. The beach crew worked diligently each day to remove any seaweed that washed ashore. We spent the majority of our time by the pool - Madelyn at the pool area was great with waters, food and cocktails throughout the day. She is warm and friendly and ready to accommodate any requests. We met her on our trip in October 2023 and she remembered us when we arrived this time. Just WOW!! Our shout-outs for the week are: Jendy - market cafe breakfast Caesar - seaside grill Jose & John - himitsu Madelyn - pool service - she is a difference maker at this resort Jeison - butler - another difference maker at SCC Sandy - market cafe breakfast - makes delicious omlettes Wilmer- market cafe breakfast - crepe station - so creative and yummy Felix - Bordeaux & Seaside Grill Areial - market cafe breakfast Carlos - himitsu & seaside grill Misael - El Patio - we ate here on our last night and had the pleasure of meeting Misael - such a friendly energetic and fun waiter for our last dinner Junior - barefoot grill & bar - great bartender, great conversation, lots of energy and creativity Emma - housekeeping - she kept our room spotless and our towels refreshed. We enjoyed every minute of our trip here. This was our second visit in just over 6 months - 1st in Oct 2023 and again in May 2024. Every staff we encountered was friendly, helpful and eager to assist. If we had a request they did their best to accommodate. We would highly recommend this resort to couples looking to relax & reconnect. We will definitely be back. 5/5 rating from us.
