My husband and I recently celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary at Secrets Akumal! The resort is STUNNING, the rooms and public spaces are exceptionally clean, and the customer service is beyond exceptional! Our every need and wish were met before we could even think of them! One example of this: my husband sustained a minor injury at the beach one day during our trip (no fault of the resort in any way); we were immediately assisted by one of the medical staff affiliated with the resort positioned on the beach and by the time we made it back to our building/room, our concierge greeted us and informed us that she was aware of what had occurred and was prepared to arrange follow-up care in our room later that evening and the following day --- talk about excellent communication across this team! Additionally, our room had a leak one day while we were out; the concierge immediately notified us and upgraded our room for the remainder of our stay due to the inconvenience while they addressed the issue. Lastly, we found that all of the concierges we worked with made a point to greet us by name each time we interacted or crossed paths (without any prompting nor introduction by us usually, might I add) -- this seemingly small gesture made such a big impact on us, moreso because there are several guests per building, with significant check-ins/check-outs each day. I could go on and on about the all the ways this staff collectively worked seamlessly to ensure that their guests were well cared for and enjoyed themselves while visiting this property. We loved our time here and cannot wait to return again!

Came to celebrate my Birthday with family. Booked this resort based on previous reviews. Hotel was pretty, location was great, service at the pool and beach were outstanding. Only had one issue with a manager at Portofino who was extremely rude. However, management quickly resolved the issue and went above and beyond to make us feel that we were extremely important. There are a lot of rules at this resort which is something new for us at an all inclusive, but the staff was truly amazing.

From the beginning to end, the visit was exquisite one person that really stood out was our pool attendant for three days Sharon she was at the pool by the beach and one day. She moved over by the pool by the Seaside Grill, and then one day she was at the Café Coco wonderful wonderful woman if anybody can tell her, thank you from Tom I’m bet you would see a smile

Amazing stay! We booked the preferred club swim out suite which was well worth it. The suite (at least ours) includes your standard shampoo/conditioner, soap, hair dryer but also a steamer, shave kit, SUNSCREEN & bug spray! We didn’t even have to use the bug spray, the mosquitos weren’t an issue at all. They clean the room 2x day, replenish mini bar/snacks (you can tell them your preferences as well). They even have a pillow menu if you prefer different pillows! A couple restaurants require reservations so make sure to set that up with your concierge ASAP & book any excursions with the travel agent in the lobby if you haven’t already. When you arrive they’ll take your luggage while you wait for your room in the preferred lounge or you can explore. Pack a swimsuit/sandals/sunscreen in your carry on & keep it with you if you want to enjoy the beach/pool while you wait. VISIT THE SPA! It’s absolutely incredible and stunning. Preferred club includes some services and you can upgrade for slight cost. We did hydrotherapy & massages - BEST massages we’ve ever had! We brought a small first aid kit which came in handy when I cut my foot on some coral. Hubby got small piece of glass in his foot - I kicked myself for not bringing tweezers! Also bring some after-sun/aloe if you want to avoid paying higher prices for it at the resort. There’s a cord in the shower you can use to hang swimsuits to dry. We loved the complimentary robes & slippers - definitely a 5 star experience! Also, Portofino is DELICIOUS! Our fave restaraunt by far. You have to try the brick oven pizzas & blackberry margaritas. The nightly entertainment & games by the pool keep you engaged. Utilize the app as your room key but also to see the schedule of events & hours for restaurants! The weather was great, it was warm & humid but we enjoyed beautiful sunny days. Expect to see iguanas, birds, and even some kitties, raccoons & capybara! It feels like you’re in the jungle. It can seem easy to get lost but there are plenty of signs and always a staff member near if you have questions. Its about 1hr 15min from Cancun airport, keep that in mind. Overall amazing stay & we cannot wait to come back!!!
