WestJet continues to monitor the situation closely and will make operational changes in the name of safety as necessary.

In response to the Fort McMurray wildfires, a travel advisory has been posted on WestJet.com and flexible change/cancel guidelines have been announced for all guests travelling to/from Fort McMurray between May 14 and May 16, 2024.

Out an abundance of caution, WestJet has cancelled flight WS 145 on May 15 between Fort McMurray and Calgary due to staffing constraints in the region.

To assist guests evacuating the region, WestJet is operating three additional flights between Fort McMurray and Calgary:

  • WS4138 scheduled to operate between Calgary and Fort McMurray on May 15

  • WS4139 scheduled to operate between Fort McMurray and Calgary on May 15

  • WS4145 scheduled to operate between Calgary and Fort McMurray on May 16

We continue to monitor the situation closely and will make operational changes in the name of safety as necessary. All guests currently in the region are advised to follow all response instructions provided by local authorities.
