Partner booking experience
When booking your flight, you might see that some trips are sold by WestJet but operated by Delta—or the other way around. That just means one airline sells the flight, while the other operates it with its own aircraft and crew. No matter which airline is flying you, your booking stays in one place, and you’ll get the same great service from both WestJet and Delta.
When booking through WestJet, you can see which flights are operated by Delta in Step 1 of the booking flow when selecting your departing flight.
- The flight details display whether a flight is operated by Delta after the "Flight WS" number.
- To view this information, click on "Flight details >", where you'll find specifics such as aircraft type and operating carrier.
For example, in the booking screen, a connecting flight from YYC to MIA via ATL shows that it is operated by both WestJet and Delta Air Lines Inc.. Selecting "Flight details >" will provide further confirmation of which segments are operated by Delta.

Airport experience
Know what to expect at the airport—from check-in to baggage and making smooth connections. Whether you’re starting your journey with WestJet or Delta, we’re here to help make your experience easy and stress-free.
Please be sure to check-in online with the airline that is operating the first flight. If your first flight is with WestJet:
- Check-in opens 24 hours before departure.
- You can complete the check-in process through the WestJet app or in Manage Trips. You can select your seat, download your boarding pass, and save time at the airport.
- We suggest you arrive at the airport 2 hours before departure if you are travelling within Canada and 2.5 hours for international travel.
If your first flight is with Delta, visit check-in and security details to learn more.

For example:

Fees are charged one-way and collected by the airline operating the first flight in each direction of your trip.
