“This is the most fulfilling event I have done in terms of volunteer work. To see the gratitude in their eyes and feel that – it’s so fulfilling and heartwarming. What an incredible facility that you provide that brings that unity to people who are going through difficult times, because human connection is what makes people feel safe.” - Crystal, WestJet employee Nearly 100 WestJet Group team members, alongside valued service partners, came together during the week of May 25 to give back to communities across Canada through volunteer efforts at Ronald McDonald House. Together, they made nutritious meals and snacks to support more than 300 families navigating some of their most challenging moments with care, compassion, and connection. "We’re so grateful to WestJet for the care and warmth they shared with our families during WestJetter Week. Their continued dedication to bringing comfort and joy means more than they know,” said Taryn Harrison, Director of Philanthropy & Donor Engagement, Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon. From coast-to-coast-to-coast—spanning Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Hamilton and Montreal—team members rolled up their sleeves to take part in volunteer shifts that made a meaningful impact. Whether preparing meals, baking, supporting daily programming, or creating heartfelt connections with families, these efforts created moments of comfort and normalcy for families staying with Ronald McDonald House across Canada during uncertain times. “Seeing the impact that these meals have as well as it being such a great team building opportunity. Doing something selfless. We’ve come here a few times now with WestJet and we hope to be back soon.” - Nathalie, WestJet employee In addition to volunteering, WestJet gifted each Ronald McDonald House a gift of flight voucher to support their fundraising efforts and help fund the support programs offered at Ronald McDonald House program locations across the country. For more than 19 years, WestJet’s partnership with Ronald McDonald House Canada has been rooted in a shared commitment to helping families stay together when it matters most. This week’s volunteer efforts are a powerful reflection of that commitment and demonstrate how WestJet employees continue to make a meaningful difference in our communities.
