Excellent stay!

We stayed here for one night while travelling through Canmore. The place caught our attention because of the waterslide. Our kids just loved it! The property was everything we expected and more! It was clean, well-maintained and the rooms looked like they were recently re-done. The view from our room was simply breathtaking! The beds were comfortable - the only negative were the pillows. They were hard and of low quality, but other than that, the sleep was decent. Staff was friendly and helpful. We forgot our phone charger and were contacted in the afternoon to retrieve, once the room had been cleaned. Breakfast was plentiful with eggs, sausage, bagels , fruit, cereal among other items. You can't go wrong with staying here. We had an awesome experience and will return someday.
Pet friendly doesn’t mean friendly pets…

So we typically in the industry want people to leave our establishments happy, one way or another. So I politely voiced my dissatisfaction to the front desk, (by no means looking for “comps” but maybe acknowledgment and potentially a gesture) but unfortunately I still left unhappy. So here is my unbiassed review. . first I will say to those who are looking…this is a PET FRIENDLY hotel. I missed this somehow….So just understand, that being woken up by a barking dog in your hallway on your vacation is something that COULD happen…And DID happen to us. …But I was told by the front desk that it’s a “pet friendly hotel”….and when a dog on a leash lunged and barked at our family as we came out of the elevator to our room … I was told it’s a “pet friendly hotel”. Maybe “pet friendly” doesn’t mean “friendly pets”. The pool and hot tub were very “strong” , we all felt it on our skin immediately after and for a couple of days.…pool was also very busy in the evening time . And the elevator… wow….a mind of its own it seemed. You would think it’s coming from 30 Stories up. That’s the bad… The room was comfortable tho. Clean and There was a little fireplace and a decent bathroom. There seemed to be plenty of parking, it’s walking distance on a nice day to the town and it’s cheaper than most competitors. The breakfast buffet was decent content wise, had a good variety, but struggled to keep up with the people. I’m sure if you want to bring your dog with you this would be a great place to stay. BUT if you want 100% chance of not being woken up or having your children barked at by a dog in the hallways on your vacation then maybe it’s not for you? 4/5 for room condition/food/general areas 2/5 for my experience and the policy and how it was handled 3/5 overall to be fair
