Extremely Disappointed – Former Defender of RW, but I won't return now

R4620MR on Jul 08, 2025

I used to be one of the biggest defenders of Resorts World but after my trip over the 4th of July I will never set foot in here again. To start I booked this stay as part to last minute use my Hilton Aspire Credit. To maximize my stay I broke out my reservation into 1 night and 2 nights. I called in to have the reservations combined, and was told this wouldn't be an issue (Major issue coming) For this reservation I had booked it before the resort fee promotion was announced, and instead I got a $75 Resort Credit per day in additional to $25 for 2 for breakfast. The problem with these credits is there's overlap with some restaurants but not others, so if you use them in the wrong order you take from one pool but not the other (completely awful system). Before arrival (48 hours) we were upgraded to a suite. On arrival we were downgraded with the reason being those rooms were no longer available (not sure why you're confirming an upgrade and then removing it in the first place then) Day 1: I check in around 6:00PM and mostly no issues, and charge my first $75. The next morning I charge breakfast at Suns out Buns out at around 9:00am. My keys stop working at this time and I go to the front to reactivate them and confirm the food credit has been posted correctly. At this time I confirm if the food credit is a use it or lose it per night or is it one pool I can use at any point during the trip. Front desk confirms it is one giant pool (incorrect information that the manager would argue with me the next day) . Check in to new room, and charge dinner to that room. No room cleaning yet again Day 2: Eat Breakfast at Suns out again and charge dinner. No room cleaning, we call to ask why and schedule for 11:00am next day (did not show up until 1:00pm Day 3: Eat Breakfast at Suns Out Again, eat dinner and go to front desk to settle bill. Bill is completly wrong at this time. They claim I've used my Day 1 credit on Day 2 as they had checked me out of my room. Show front desk the photo of my food at 9am and they said we can't do anything because the room has been checked out and you didn't use your credit (absolute joke yet again). At this time we ask to speak with a manager to see if there's a suggestion. We ask to remove the resort fee as the price is about the same, the manager agrees but tells us if she does that she has to remove our resort credit for the tomorrow (makes zero sense yet again). BIll has a discrepency of about $250 at this point, and still has charges that should've fallen off (free internet for diamond) Day 4: Checkout. At this point I've accepted that I will have to do some sort of chargeback as the front desk continues to show incompetence and zero ability to resolve anything. Call billing department from our room to get our folio emailed, and folio team tells us we have $100 of unused credit, complete opposite of the front desk manager. While the front desk was friendly the manager, and billing department showed hostility the entire trip towards us. Overall here were my main issues. 1. Lack of Transparency at Check-In Upon arrival, the front desk failed to communicate key Diamond benefits or clarify how the dual reservation would be handled. I was originally informed of a suite upgrade the night before, but this was reversed without explanation the morning of check-in. I was told we could stay in the same room for both reservations without checking in again. 2. Incorrect Resort Credit Application • On July 2nd, we dined at Wally’s, expecting to use the $75 resort credit. • On July 3rd and 4th, we had breakfast at Suns Out Buns Out, expecting to use the $50 Diamond credit each day. • On July 3rd, we were told the $75 credit was stackable and would total $150, and it would be applied at checkout. • We also dined at Viva on the evening of the 3rd and Genting Palace on the 4th with the intent to apply resort credits. However, the folio: • Did not reflect proper application of the resort credits (we were told only $120 was applied). • Did not honor the $50 Diamond credits, even though we used them on two mornings. We also shared a timestamp photo of our food at Suns Out Buns Out • Included internet charges, despite Diamond status offering free premium Wi-Fi. To make matters worse, the front desk team insisted that we had "checked out" of the first reservation and that nothing could be done to adjust or access that folio. This is contrary to what was promised at check-in. 3. Housekeeping Issues Despite being out most of the day on July 3rd, our room was not cleaned. We had not placed a Do Not Disturb sign. After requesting housekeeping for the next day, the room still was not serviced by 2 PM on July 4th. This lack of service negates the value of the daily resort fee, which typically covers such amenities. 4. Contradictory Information The front desk told us we no longer had any credits remaining, yet when I called the billing team the final morning, they confirmed we still had $100 of unused Hilton credit. This inconsistency was extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

NO KETTLE OR COFFEE MACHINE IN REGULAR ROOMD

paula r on Jul 06, 2025

Do not stay at this hotel! THEY SELL YOU JUNK FOOD/SNACKS AND BEVERAGES FROM THE MINI BAR IN YOUR ROOM BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE BARE NECESSITIES LIKE A KETTLE OR COFFEE MACHINE IN REGULAR ROOMS. FOR A 5 STAR HOTEL, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR THE INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLER.
