The cevicheria is a must, fresh seafood. The drinks are bomb. Our server Hector was super friendly, kind and always with a big smile. Very attentive, service is 100%.
Almost 5-stars but not quite there

If I could give 4.5 out of 5 I would. I will start with the excellent. The service here is top notch. Either with the doorman or waiters everyone is great and at the top of their game. Special shout out to Salvador at La Ceviches who took great care of us everyday at lunch and somehow convinced our very picky 9 year old to try fish tacos that he loved and wanted every day. Final shout out to Angel, Manases and Armando at Vina Del Mar breakfast buffet. Had our table ready and waiting every morning and by the 2nd morning had our drink orders memorized and at the table waiting for us with a smile everyday. The pools are great in that they have a separate activity pool so if you don’t want to be involved with the daily aerobics, volleyball, etc… you don’t have too. The Blu pool is especially great and a quiet oasis. Final positive is that the food is outstanding. We have gone to quite a few all inclusive in this category and this is the only one that we have generally surprised that the food is not just good, but great. And every restaurant the food has been excellent, not playing favorites as all the food we have had is fantastic. Now the negatives that keeps the place from a 5 star. Our room has seen better days and needs an update. I understand that a lot of the rooms have been upgraded but we did not get one of those and at this price point I would expect a nicer room. Having to get a golf cart to go anywhere is a large pain. I often call and have to sit on the phone for 20-30 rings, hang up and have to call again to get someone to answer and send a golf cart which is just annoying. Coming back to our room in the middle of the week and neither my my wife or my keys worked. We got ahold of the front desk on cell phone and they sent someone to confirm the door worked but that person would not let us in and said we had to go back to the main lobby to get our keys programmed. That meant yet another call for a golf cart and a wait both ways. This should have been handled for us and to make us travel back and forth to the lobby with our kids is not representative of a 5-star resort. Last item is the main pool that needs work and tiles are missing and falling out. Also lizards sun bathe on the rocks every morning which is fine except they do their #2’s and then it just sits on the rocks and bakes in the sun. Come back to the pool the next morning and the excrement is still there which has to be unsanitary.
