Overview
The Fiesta Americana Mérida rises up at the intersection of Mérida's two most important avenues: Colon and Paseo Montejo. The hotel is adjacent to the shopping mall, a business center and the South East Industries Club which operates through membership. Its convenient location allows guests to reach the airport in 25 minutes and seven minutes from downtown, where guests can learn the colonial heritage of the city, listen to the Yucatecan trova notes and sample the typical dishes.

First time in Merida: So lucky with this hotel!!!
Luciano P on Jan 05, 2026
Fiesta Americana, Merida, offered us the most perfect vacations. We stayed for seven days. It was our first trip to Merida and the hotel we stayed in is a large portion of the trip having been an extremely pleasant experience. The personnel in the hotel could not have been nicer and attentive. They tried to accommodate to all of our demands. The hotel itself is imposing and magnificent as structure and as decor. The room was large and offered everything one needs for an enjoyable stay. The room was very clean and whatever we needed was provided. The bed was perfect, and the linen very soft. One of the worries we have about big hotels is noise, but that is not the case of Fiesta Americana, Merida, at all. Despite being a very large hotel and having a mall under it, the only sound we heard from our room was birds singing in the morning. I was very satisfied. We had access to the pool, and, even during winter, it was a great opportunity. We normally do not frequent hotel pools, but they made it so easy to use it, that we finish going to the pool every day in the afternoon. The hotel is very well placed. It is not in downtown (what is a plus), but very well connected to the historic center. A 20-30-minute walk by the most pleasant boulevard in Merida (Paseo Montejo) links the hotel to downtown. Furthermore, it is also linked to all part of town through the Meridan bus system (va y ven). After visiting all attractions in downtown, however, one only needs to leave the hotel area if one wishes. There are all kinds of good restaurants and coffee shops around. In Paseo 60, just one block from the hotel, you even find a bus to the airport (part of the va y ven system). Had we known, that is how we would have gotten from the airport to the hotel. Of course, Taxis are not expensive in Merida, and the Hotel has a list of prices for most places in Merida. They will help you with taxis, which are always available in front of the hotel. I cannot stress more, how pleased we are with Fiesta Americana, Merida. It helped us to discover a new great destination for winter time in the US, and we plan to be back next winter holiday time.
Rooms need some TLC

Nice hotel overall but the rooms definitely need some updating. The hotel is very strategically located to visit the city, and the service was very good. Stayed in a junior suite and the room felt old and in desperate need of remodelling. It turns out that you get charged for the Nespresso capsules which is silly for a hotel if this category, unless you sign up for the hotel chain’s membership program. Didn’t like that at all.
