The Banff Ptarmigan Inn is centrally located in Banff National Park only steps away from the downtown area. This mountain hotel is a great escape to the Canadian Rockies. On your vacation you can enjoy our mountain views, and numerous outdoor activities from hiking trails, canoe rides, and biking in the summer, skiing, skating, and snowshoeing in the winter. Room was comfortable and clean. Free parking and plenty of it. Great location. Easy walk to rest of town . 2 restaurants on site but I did not use either. Staff was helpful and friendly. Rooms are dark. We found the hotel to be very quiet. Enjoyed our stay

The Ptarmigan Inn was very nice accommodations. Id say the rooms were probably. 4 star as they werent huge but were clean, comfortable and nice. Loved the sink outside the shower and toilet area which was handy for going with friends. I gave the Inn 5 stars overall because of the great location. It was on the main road where all the shops and restaurants are. It was a block from grocery store also. You could easily walk all around town. Its also adjacent to their bus system that takes you everywhere including to the Gondola and up to Lake Louise area. But be sure and get reservation to go to the Lake as the number of cars a day is restricted.i would totally recommend the Ptarmigan ad a place to stay when in Baniff.
