Dirty, dated, noisy

Nicole C (Hamilton, Canada) on Jun 30, 2024

This hotel is right down by the waterfront but that is obviously the only good thing about it. I stayed here 4 nights for a work conference late June 2024 and from the moment I arrived things went from bad to worse. While the food at the hotel restaurant is good quality the service is painfully slow, even when you are the only ones there and the prices are outrageous (over $30 for your basic continental breakfast service, which was a small offering that many other hotels would include for free; I paid close to $50 for a salad and 6oz glass of house wine on my first night). The rooms are old, dirty and falling apart. There were loud mechanical noises echoing in the hallways and despite the warmer weather I had to keep the air off as it sounded like a freight train was rattling every time I tried to turn the fan or AC on. I was told maintenance was going to look into this early on first morning I was at the hotel, it was never looked at. The pool looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 20 years and has thick mould growing, along with a heavy coating of slime on the surrounding tiles. Upon checking out the front desk attendant asked how my stay was, I responded "well, a bit noisy to be honest" at which point she prompted for more information and I told her about the AC and mechanical noise issues in my room. She laughed and promptly handed me my $1400 bill for the 4 nights. This will be my last time staying at a Delta hotel chain. I travel frequently, and quite honestly the uncleanliness, dated rooms, and disgusting pool is unacceptable, especially considering the premium prices guests are paying to stay here. PEI is a very walkable city, save your money and stay at a cheaper hotel further out, or an air B&B. I didn't take many photos, but have included two of the mould and grime at the pool.

Yelling Shouting Staff, Unprofessional, Avoid

PEIislander1 (Prince Edward Island, Canada) on Apr 09, 2024

April 2024. upon arriving at the delta around 9:25pm I decided to head to the bar for a beverage since I was informed that it was opened until 10pm after inquiring earlier that evening. After entering the front doors of the Delta, and proceeding to the bar which was completely illuminated, tv on, etc. The bartender (who has a Ukrainian accent) was standing at the front desk, with the front desk agent chatting. The bartender then proceeds to yell at me from the front desk as I head to the bar that he closed the place, that it was closed, and that there was no business. He was shouting this from the front desk at me as I headed to the bar. It was absolutely appalling, disrespectful and degrading that I was being shouted at to leave. From someone at the front desk of a hotel. It is absolutely horrible customer service. I am frequently at the Delta Prince Edward and I have never been treated with such disrespect.
