Great Location for Beach Centric Stay
LB i (Fort Worth, Texas) on Nov 18, 2024
Stayed for a couple of nights in November as part of a group in town for a college sporting event. I was not the organizer and did not select this hotel (we usually opt for rental homes) but we were very happy with it. Friendly check in and our rooms were ready early. They also granted us late checkout, as our group had a late afternoon flight from LGB. Free bottled water in the fridge and a partial ocean view, overlooking the pool. The room is nicely laid out, with an angle at the sliding glass door onto the tiny balcony to ensure that view of the Pacific. First, the good - LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Quick cross of Highway 1 to the beach. A wide, beautiful expanse only about a 10 minute walk from the pier. We were out every day, even with a gale warning the first day, and it was gorgeous. That angle in the room added enough extra space for a nice oversized chair and small round table. One of the cleanest hotel rooms I've been in. Good variety of food on site and all employees were very pleasant. We appreciated the nice toiletries, in ample amounts (bottles attached to walls - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion) and oversized bath towels. Despite being over the pool area, the noise wasn't too bad with the door and curtains closed. We enjoyed breakfast from the grab and go place by the back exit (great breakfast flatbread - enough for two) and Cabo Wabo for a late dinner. Now, the areas that could have been better - very firm mattress (may be good for some, just not us!). One of my biggest pet peeves - difficult to reach toilet paper! (I wish designers/builders would sit on the toilet and see for themselves before they finalize where to install...) If you have a bad back, you may opt to pop the roll onto the counter instead. A moveable holder would make this much easier. The hotel was very busy that weekend, with at least a couple of conferences and a ton of kids in town for a lacrosse tournament. It was quite noisy everywhere we went during the afternoons and evenings. We had kids running up and down our hallways and people out moving furniture on their balconies and laughing/talking. They do post in each room that they expect quiet time, but I doubt anyone cares. The good news is that we were so tired both evenings, we fell asleep regardless. This is the main reason we opt for alternatives to hotels any more. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to someone looking for a beachfront hotel with plenty to eat, see and do in the area.

Almost perfect

Had a problem getting there from the East Coast with plane difficulty. Plane was delayed 15 hours. Expecting to lose my reservation, I called the Hotel and talked to a manager named Sean, He could not have been nicer. He assured me he would cancel my reservation and rebook so that I would not be charged for the first night I would be missing. Total piece of mind when I really needed it. Upon checkin the next day I was greeted by a front desk employee named James. Another true gentleman. Was sorry to hear about about day before problem, searched for a room for early arrival and upgraded to an ocean view room on a higher floor. Great view and a great way to make up for our lost time. Everybody was very pleasant. Food choices, good. Nice pool , grounds and perfect location. If I really had to search to find a negative, the Rooftop bar. Beautiful view with firepits and very welcoming. My problem, I ordered a Martini. i expected a premium price because of location. Problem was they charged me $16 for the martini (ok) but $4 for the PREP to make it . $4 for a martini prep ? What ? Never heard such a rip. Ok, only complaint and MAYBE a minor one, but that was our last trip to that bar. . Otherwise a GREAT place to stay and a special shoutout to Sean and James. Two truly professional employees .
needs better customer service training

my boyfriend and i just stayed here on Saturday and were astonished at how AWFUL the service was. We walked in to check in and there was a group of employees behind the front desk just chatting amongst themselves staring at us. There was a blonde woman with awful eyebrows off to the side who didn’t bother to say “i can help you right here”. All the employees were like deers in headlights. Not one took initiative to help us. We ended up just walking up to the blonde and were not greeted or anything. just “last name and id” I’m not sure if everyone was having an off day or what but i’ve never had this experience elsewhere. You would think with how expensive this place is, that the front desk agents would be trained to be better. They’re the first impression people get from your hotel. DO BETTER!
From Valet to checkout top notch…Ryan, Monica, and front desk manager

The valet was the ice cream on top…I was concerned about door dings and bunch of diff people driving my car (factory MB Matte paint is delicate) Ryan in valet took really good care of me and was the only person to park the car and put it way outta the way. Big kudos to Ryan and valet to finish off an amazing stay with amazing room and service all around. Stayed her a dozen times and will def be coming back
