Hyatt gave up on this resort a long time ago

This place was a big disappointment. I've been to over 20 all-inclusive Caribbean resorts (5 in Jamaica) and this one was the worst. The good stuff... Staff was mostly nice. Service wasn't over-the-top, but typical for what I have experienced in Jamaica before. There were a few staff that clearly could care less about being there. Food was generally good enough. I've had better at all-inclusives, but I've also had worse. A la cart restaurants were pretty good, but the buffet could have been better. Location was convenient to the airport and had a nice beach. Guest rooms were clean and comfortable, but just a very standard hotel room with nothing fancy. The rest... General maintenance around the hotel was really bad. Outside of the actual guest rooms, you can tell that Hyatt puts almost no money into maintenance. The hotel is due for a major renovation and I guess Hyatt is just milking it until nobody will stay there anymore. Lots of pictures attached for evidence. I guess it rains a lot in November (which they obviously can't help), but the buildings are not equipped for it. Water was pouring in from the ceilings when it rained and they had to put sand bags around the doors to keep it out. The lower floor hallway was soaked and they had to have fans running on it the entire week we were there... smelled horrible. Mid-way through our week, they actually had to shut the water off to the hotel and blamed it on a water main break that they had to work on. You can visibly see the roof falling apart all around the hotel. Otherwise, lots of broken toilets and sinks all around the resort. One other complaint I have is they don't have enough towels. A resort based around a beach and a pool, should have a ton of towels available for the guests. They seemed to run out every day by lunch. Overall, the maintenance issues killed the experience for us. Would not recommend this one and we won't be going back. It's time for Hyatt to shut this one down and renovate.
Excellent service and full stomachs

Spent 3 nights there. It rained quite a bit, but we enjoyed our stay nonetheless. Dining options were great (make your reservations ASAP, and get there early), and service was excellent all around. They proactively offered up umbrellas, and they were very accommodating to all of our requests, including asking for housekeeping service during a quick trip to the pool and the buffet staff letting us take food back to our room for our 11 year old son. While I wish there were better entertainment options for our son, it forced him to actually get off his rump and enjoy the resort.
