Excellent Stay at Marriott

LeeTrotman (Los Angeles, California) on Jun 17, 2024

Excellent stay from late check In experience to check out. Nice room with the coldest AC system ever built for the desert, microwave, refrigerator, modern HDTV with streaming options, and nice bathroom. On the ground floor next to golf course so sliding patio door with lock available. Highly recommend.

Absolutely great experience

Clod13 (Frankfurt, Germany) on May 27, 2024

I can’t understand the negative and mediocre reviews. We had the perfect experience. We checked in on a Tuesday at 5:30pm. No queue. The front desk clerk was friendly and accommodating. We asked for a quiet room and got one. She even showed us the view of the villa on a tablet and asked if it’s suitable. We drove to our 1-bedroom villa on the 1st floor of block 944 on Jacaranda drive. Everything about the villa was perfect. The conditions of the furnishings and beautiful decor, the view, the equipment of the kitchen, the comfy beds, the cleanliness. The same with the maintenance, upkeep and cleanliness throughout the property. Beautiful. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony overlooking the golf course, then the mornings at the pool at the back of the check in house. Pool was clean, chairs and towels in perfect condition. I can only recommend this property! Having said this, we stayed here in the week before Memorial Day weekend. It was quiet and low capacity. We didn’t have any neighbors and therefore zero noise.

Horrible Room

An L on Apr 24, 2024

If TripAdvisor has a zero star option then I definitely use it. I was a gold member of Marriott hotel and it was my first time check out the Marriott Vacation Resort in Palm Desert town for two nights. When we arrived around 4:40 pm on Monday 04/22/2024 waited awhile to get the room keys. Drove two blocks to get the room and opened the door and Oh Boy!!! Someone was currently cleaning our room and of course it was not ready yet. Closed the door and driving out the main hotel front desk lady who helped seemed to already knew that room was not ready . A manager gave us a different room. After getting the new room, we heard a spinning noise and vibration noise. We thought it must be the next room were using the washing machine or dishwasher but it was happening again every 30/40 minutes so we thought I that was strange they used washing machine all the time. So after having a lunch next day we decided to text customer service front desk.?They sent someone to check out the noise. The technician told us the noise was coming from 8 AC units right above our room. Unbelievable! We requested to cancel the second day and check out right away so fed up with this horrible resort. The technician said people had complained about the vibration noise before. They thought it was ok to assign us to that room? Besides the noise. The room was very small, the towels were worn out . No coffee table. Only one coffee bag for two nights. We will never comeback to this Marriott Vacation Resort again.

Terrible stay

Em3623 (California) on Apr 23, 2024

The checkin line was long around 4:15pm and only 1 person worked the front desk for awhile. First they gave us a room that was still being cleaned so we had to drive back to the front desk to get a different room. Then they gave us a room with a constant loud vibration. We contacted the front desk and they sent an engineer to take a look. He showed us a picture of 8 AC units right above our room. They shouldn’t even be assigning anyone to a room with 8 vibrating AC united right above. Turn the room into storage or something. To make it even worse the room is connected to a suite so we could hear them eating, washing plates, blowing their nose, etc since 6am in the morning. No sound proof at all. The King room with sofa bed is tiny. About 200 sq feet. Nowhere to put our luggage on so we had to use the two chairs. No coffee table. No mirrors outside of the bathroom. No full length mirrors. The bathroom is long and narrow. The place does not have a resort feel at all. It’s just an apartment complex with several small pools and a big pool. Food options are very limited. I wonder why people come here for vacation (unless for golfing) since it doesn’t feel like being on vacation when staying there.

Haunting Ghost Experience at the JW Marriott

Patricia G on Apr 22, 2024

Experienced 2 ghost encounters from our 2 night stay at the resort. The 1st one was my first night while I was watching tv pretty late into the AM sitting up on the bed with all lights turned off and a black shadow comes out from the closed door that divides the other room from where my daughter was sleeping and proceeded to move towards the bathroom. The 2nd time was the next night when we were all sleeping, i was in one bed with my granddaughter and my husband was sleeping in the other bed. I was semi awake when i heard a soft whisper “grandma” and i glanced over to my grandaughter but she was sleeping then seconds later heard it again that soft whisper “grandma” and this when i took a really good look to see if my granddaughter was awake but she was in a deep sleep. Left me to think it was a ghost.
