Don’t miss the “Birds of Prey Happy Hour”

TexasNorthTraveler (Richmond, Virginia) on Jan 16, 2026

The Scottsdale Grand Hyatt at Gainey Ranch is a beautiful resort, but fairly similar to other resorts in the Scottsdale area. The one thing that was outstanding was their Friday afternoon “Birds of Prey Happy Hour”. Four handlers from a local rescue operation brought 6 BOP for a 1 hour exhibition and educational program. All the birds were rescues who had been rehabbed, but were unable to be returned to the wild. The 6 birds were: Red Tailed Hawk, Harris Hawk, Barn Owl, Great Horned Owl, Peregrine Falcon and a Bald Eagle. They flew the birds back and forth from handler to handler while giving us information about the birds and then brought the birds around to each guest So we could take “selfies” with each bird. This show was one of the most awesome experiences we have ever participated in at a hotel.

Don't book through the Edit- no upgrade maybe a downgrade overpriced for what you get for sure.

Jamie R on Jan 10, 2026

Wouldn't book as a stay through the Edit credit with Chase. We were put in a room that was next to were they were moving a bunch of things for an event early in the morning with a balcony/patio that had only a view of the bushes around it. The room was a basic hotel room, the breakfast was way overpriced. I would not stay there again for the points or prices they charge, there are much better accommodations in the area for much less.

Great spot to relax and enjoy while the kids are busy too!

Azra A on Jan 08, 2026

Great place to stay. The location of the resort is convenient. The staff is nice and helpful, it’s maintained well, clean and best of all, very family friendly, so many activities for the kids. There are separated pool areas for adults and families. Pickleball courts, tennis courts, a little putting area, sand at the pool like a beach for kids to play in, lots of green fields for the kids to play ball in. Gold club is gorgeous. Breakfast is delicious, huge spread. The on site restaurants look really nice. Lounge for members has fun treats. Literally, the only con was I wish the spa was more reasonable. I would have definitely scheduled something with my daughter if the prices were better. Maybe a good package deal. A 60 min massage for 250 plus, is ridiculous. Give a great deal and you’ll make way more and a lot of satisfied guest. It’s not just this resort it’s all of them that do this. The only one I found sensible price was Wyndham in Clearwater. I went with 6 of my girls and it was so worth the 550 each. Look into it Hyatt you have everything else as perfect!

The Grand Hyatt Scottsdale is really GRAND

DanielKamm (Naples, Florida) on Jan 05, 2026

The Grand Hyatt Scottsdale is a beautiful property with lovely grounds and very nice rooms. What makes it so special is the staff. The food service for breakfast, lunch or dinner is exceptional with excellent food. As a Globalist, we were treated so well, we didn't want to leave. Hats off to Benjamin, Lilly, Sophie, Max and many others who made our stay exceptional. The club lounge was also staffed with warm and hospitable staff. Again, many thanks.
