Will not return

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale for a quick weekend and the hotel did not meet basic expectations. The property looks recently remodeled, but core details were missed. Light switches and outlets were visibly dirty, and housekeeping failed to service the room one day despite a direct request. Operations felt disorganized and the property itself felt over capacity. At times it resembled a high-volume resort environment rather than a relaxed stay, with long lines for breakfast and significant crowding throughout. The main dining room was closed during breakfast hours with no clear communication about where alternative dining was available, which created confusion and forced guests to figure it out on their own. When redirected to other options, the experience was a downgrade with limited, heavy choices and little flexibility. Service was inconsistent. I received a call saying my benefits were invalid, which was later reversed. Overall, the stay felt understaffed and poorly coordinated, and more like a high-throughput operation than a well-run resort. It is not a property I would return to.
Nice but lacked pool accomodations and customer service
Christine B on Apr 10, 2026
We went with our two young adult children and overall the rooms and hotel space were nice but, for the price you pay to stay there, we were frustrated by a few things. Despite getting up early everyday to get some (any) space at the pool, lawn chairs and umbrellas were already taken. Towels reserving spots would sit there unattended for hours. Food in the lunch restaurant was mediocre at best. Also one night we got back late and my daughters went to the hotel marketplace to grab a snack. They purchased a one serving pack of microwave mac and cheese for $8. However, there was no where to microwave it. They were told to go to the bar to do it, which has no microwave. At the front desk they were told they could RENT a microwave for $25. That’s the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. It would’ve been a great opportunity for the hotel to surprise us with great customer service and just offer to do it for them, but no. Why even sell microwave oatmeal, mac, etc. in the shop then? After how much we paid a night to stay and for that stupid mac and cheese, that was a joke. I know it’s trivial but as someone who has worked in customer service her entire career, they missed a simple and easy opportunity to make something right. We won’t be back.
Not quite as luxury as I thought

Overall it was an underwhelming experience for us, considering this is supposed to be a luxury hotel and it pricy. Mostly the front desk staff is a mixed bag and depending on who you get you get a different experience. For is unfortunately even though we were chase edit members that get upgraded if available and my husbands birthday. We waited hours to get a room that not only was not an upgrade but overlooked the front entry parking area. This is a hotel with over 400 rooms and suites so for sure they had the available rooms but chose not to honor the upgrade and made us wait to think we would actually get one. Not ok. Also during spring break be aware that there is a lot of children so very noisy and you have to go early to get a spot by the pool. Other than the front desk staff I will say all other staff at the hotel were exceptional. The food is great, they have a few restaurants, a marketplace and two pools. One for children and one is adult only. While we were there since it was Easter’s activities were around that, best for younger children. My son is 14 and there wasn’t much activity for him other than the slide. There wasn’t also some music on one of the nights. I would say overall it didn’t feel like a 5 star resort, and pricy for what it is. The Mountain View’s were nice though which I’ve shared.
Wonderful family hotel

The hotel is beautiful and the pool area is lovely. I would highly recommend to a family travelling with children. Hands down better than the Fairmont Princess in my opinion.
Great spring break/ Easter stay!

Stayed here for four nights during spring break and will return! We stayed over Easter and there were tons of kid activities planned, including the Easter Bunny taking a ride down the water slide! My kids (10 and 12) loved the resort and pools. The bands at night were fantastic! Great location to lots of restaurants and fast food if you don't want to pay resort food prices. Breakfast buffet was a great value for kids. Our king bed room had a loveseat that converted to a single pull-out bed. Only complaint is lack of hooks in the bathroom.
