Feel like family at Iberostar Grand Bavaro

My wife and I just returned from 5 days at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro. This place is incredible. The property itself is beautiful and the staff is amazingly friendly. The only issue we had was that our "upgraded" room was a handicapped accessible room with no jacuzzi and neither of us is handicapped. Not a big deal at all though. The AC in the room wasn't working the first day, but the staff had it fixed in no time at all. The food was incredible. We ate the surf and turf restaurant, the Italian restaurant and the Dominican restaurant, which is truly a hidden gem with great views of the beach. Now on to the staff. Add I said before the staff was great. From Daniel at the front desk, to the lobby bartender Bruno, butler Cofe, and waitress Altagracia, we had impeccable service. But there's one person there in particular that my wife and I will miss more than anyone. His name is Damian and he's a concierge. This young man is the reason my wife and I will return to the Grand Bavaro. Damian spent every day chatting with me and my wife. We learned about him, his family, life, and the Dominican culture, but he also wanted to know about us. He was genuinely interested in us and made us feel like family. Every day he would talk with us for a long while and we looked forward to seeing him every day. When we had to leave and return home, the saddest part was knowing we wouldn't see Damian again for quite a while. But I guarantee that we will return knowing that Damian is still there. If you are reading this review thinking about traveling to the D.R. and staying at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro, do it. Don't give any other resort a second thought. And please, take the time to visit with Damian. He will treat you like family, the same way he did for us.

The resort is beautiful, and the staff was extremely friendly! We had some electrical issues with our room, but they were resolved the next day. They also gave us coupons for a spa massage to make up for our troubles.
