I wouldn't go back

Dream466933 on Jun 08, 2024

The good: The grounds and pools were lovely and well kept. The staff was amazing and hard-working. The food was actually pretty good. The gym was nice, even though we had to pay extra to play pickleball. (all inclusive??) The bad: Most of the resort is open air, which means it's so hot and humid and the only place to cool down is your room or the few restaurants that you can manage to get into for dinner. Check in was miserable, as we were fully clothed in "airplane clothing" and stood there for an hour, sweating in the open air lobby. Most of the restaurants are open air, which means you're sweating during breakfast, lunch and several dinners. We tried to get reservations at the nicer places, but "it was not possible". In order to get into the other non-reservations-required restaurants (the ones with A/C), we would have to show up right at 6pm to get a table. The rooms were tired looking and dated. The a/c would only go down to 72 degrees, and everything felt wet. The fire alarms went off several times during the night (some sort of glitch), so that was fun. Our key cards were constantly broken, so we had to go back to the lobby multiple times a day to get new ones. The resort is so large that going back and forth to the lobby was a pain, even with using the golf carts. The beach was covered in seaweed (not the resort's fault), but we didn't spend any time there. My husband and I came home with a stomach bug. It's the gift that keeps on giving. Was it a terrible vacation? No. But for the price we paid, I would have expected better. I think we would have been better off going somewhere else.

Mixed Review

cassisanford (Wellington, Colorado) on Jun 07, 2024

I have mixed reviews for this resort. Be careful of reviews because they have staff that walk around pushing reviews, usually at activities in which people are having fun, so a little skewed. But the resort has beautiful scenery and wild life everywhere. Fun activities planned and people loved getting involved. Highly recommend the foam party and pool games! The first few days were really nice. But as the week went on things did not stay consistent. Restaurants were decent but hostesses were often times very rude and encourage you to go to other restaurants, quoting you absurd wait times. We decided to test the theory and didn't wait more than 20 minutes. Hard to get cold water anywhere and my entire family got sick with diarrhea and vomiting. This resort definitely felt catered to Spanish speaking guests. The sea moss is so bad that you can barely get into clean ocean water which was a real bummer. Additionally any shopping on the resort is SO expensive! Went into Playa to do some shopping instead and things are so much more expensive than the last time I was here. Prices and options at the Airport were much more reasonable believe it or not! To conclude I would probably not return to this specific resort again. I been to better.
