Happy Retirement
scorch8501 (Cottonwood, Arizona) on Jun 15, 2025
Sandals St. Lucia Grande was the perfect resort for 18 friends and family to come celebrate my 40-year retirement from the fire service. We love the Grande as it was our 8th trip there. Everything was above our standards, from the diving with our favorite dive crew to and water sports department. Terrol Marcus, Martin, Fletcher, Pam, Rachel, Stingray, Brandon, Martin, Chocolet, Natalia,, and the whole water sports department deserve huge kudos for running the best dive sites in the Caribbean. After our dives we would hangout at the pool drinking yummy rum drinks from the pool and beach bars and from our favorite bartenders, Remy, Mathew, and Peter. Then playing all of the pool games from the entertainment crew, Neville, Fenella, Deasia, Leana, Cassius, Murka, Zion, and Kalvin. All of the restaurants were yummy and had wonderful service. Our favorite bedtime snack was ice cream from Josephine's Go for the Rum Raisin. Nightly entertainment was awesome, but sometimes a nightly walk helped us sleep and worked off dinner's food rush. We always pick some off-site activities. J,J, speedboat tour was a blast, some of us did the Friday party in town, hiking over at the fort, and zip lining, You will never go wrong booking the ST Lucia Grande. PS Do the Fun to see Island ferry for your transportation to and from the resort. .
Great stay at the Grande!

We loved Sandals Grande St. Lucian! We are divers and Marcus helped us with our lionfish spearing course. After we caught several (along with some other divers), Marcus grilled them up for an early dinner one evening. It was FANTASTIC! He also fully cleans the lionfish underwater while continuing the dive. It was so cool to watch! We loved our other dive guides Kasey, Ron, Evans, Ken, and Natalia. Cuthbert at the bar was so sweet and always smiling. We loved every staff member we met while here. We can’t wait to come back!
Perfect Anniversary Getaway at Sandals Grande St. Lucia
Shannon M on Jun 13, 2025
From the moment we arrived at Sandals Grande St. Lucia we were greeted with a warm welcome and a refreshing drink, setting the tone for an unforgettable anniversary trip. This luxurious, all-inclusive resort truly lives up to its reputation for excellent service, breathtaking surroundings, and incredible amenities. Customer Service & Staff The hospitality was outstanding across the board. We were especially impressed by the bartenders—Claudia and Francis—who made every evening at the bar memorable. Special thanks to Moca from the entertainment team for making us feel so at home. The entertainment was lively every night, offering a variety of performances that kept things fresh and fun. Dining & Dietary Accommodations Dining at Sandals Grande St. Lucian was a great experience. Bombay Club is a must-try—huge thanks to Lucita for her fantastic service—and Gordon’s on the Pier offers a stunning setting and gourmet menu. Be sure to make reservations as soon as you arrive (or even before your trip), as availability fills up quickly. As someone with gluten intolerance, I was amazed by the attention to detail. I met with the executive chef, who walked me through all gluten-free options and precautions taken in each restaurant. Amanda from the Culinary Concierge helped me complete a dietary plan and even assisted in pre-selecting meals—an invaluable service that added so much peace of mind. Accommodations We stayed in the Caribbean Honeymoon Beach View Penthouse Club Level Suite, which offered spectacular views, a quiet atmosphere, and a very comfortable bed. The room was spotless, and the minibar was restocked daily. Activities & Excursions We highly recommend the Land and Sea tour with Charlie (Knotty Girl)—a great way to explore early in your trip and meet fellow guests. While it’s tempting to book multiple excursions, leave time to enjoy the resort itself. The property is full of cozy spots to take in the scenery. The resort’s main pool with a swim-up bar has a fun vibe with music and games, while quieter pools and hot tubs offer more relaxing options. Free watersports like sailing are available, and we enjoyed snorkeling right off the beach—don’t forget your gear! Pigeon Island National Park, located right next door, is a hidden gem. For just $10, you can hike two peaks with stunning views of the coast—highly recommend if you love a bit of adventure. Final Thoughts Although we didn’t have time to visit the other Sandals locations on the island (I’ve heard great things about La Toc’s restaurants), we split our stay between this resort and Ladera (review to follow). Both were incredible in their own ways. Sandals Grande St. Lucia provided the perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and romance. It was everything we could’ve hoped for in an anniversary trip—and more.
Great Trip With Some Good People
jgilbert827 (Fort Mill, South Carolina) on Jun 12, 2025
This was my 2nd Sandals trip and it did not disappoint...for the most part. We arrived to a group of the staff welcoming us home and singing like we were part of their family. Everyone of the welcoming committee seemed legit happy to see us. Day 1, we ate at the Pub where the smiles went away and we were greeted by a young lady who did not seem to want guests coming in. She did not seem welcoming or enthusiastic. I was still excited to be there since we were on vacation, so I looked past it and enjoyed my dinner. The attitude from the young lady at the pub seemed to be in different areas of the resort, because there were a few instances where I felt like I was being a burden to some of the staff. We traveled pretty far and paid a pretty penny to be here and I'm being treated like I'm disrupting your day? I wasn't a fan of that. Through all of this, 3 young men ALWAYS put a smile on our faces though. Randy, the bartender in the lobby, Remy, outside bartender, and Nicholas, a server at Tusconinis. These guys were ALWAYS on their "A" game and should be commended. Though there were some less-than-acceptable attitudes during our visit, I would go back. The views, food, drinks, atmosphere as a whole were outstanding. If you go, look for Remy, Randy, and Nicholas. They will make sure your trip is one to remember.
Disappointed and Disrespected- Not the experience we had hoped for
James V on Jun 12, 2025
We had high hopes for Sandals Grande St. Lucian, expecting the premium service and warm hospitality the brand promises. While there were a few truly excellent employees who stood out, our overall experience was deeply disappointing—mainly due to the way some staff spoke about guests in Creole, assuming we couldn’t understand. As Americans, my husband’s family speaks French as their first language, so we were shocked and hurt to hear mocking, disrespectful comments made about us and other guests—right in front of us. What’s worse, this behavior included not just staff but also managers, who communicated these things openly to their teams while maintaining a fake friendliness in English. Some staff, especially bartenders at the main pool area and service staff at the Pub late at night, would pretend to not notice guests waiting patiently—laughing and mocking people in Creole as they did. The most telling moment came when staff realized we actually understood what they were saying. Their reaction was one of shock and awkward silence, followed by a complete shift in behavior. Suddenly, they became overly nice in a way that felt incredibly fake and uncomfortable. Our best encounters and most enjoyable experiences during our trip actually happened off the Sandals property, where we felt truly welcomed and respected by locals and other establishments on the island. It saddens me that I have to feel this way about such a beautiful place, especially because I did interact with a rare few amazing employees who were genuinely kind, attentive, and passionate about their work. They deserve recognition—but unfortunately, the overall environment overshadowed their efforts. We came to St. Lucia to relax and feel welcomed, not to be insulted or treated poorly by people meant to offer hospitality. We will not return to this resort and will instead seek out other places on the island where respect and kindness come naturally. I wish I would have done more research on this company and property before I committed to paying thousands of dollars I can’t and won’t get back.
